A PE teacher who filmed himself having sex with a 14-year-old girl dressed in her school uniform and was only caught when his girlfriend discovered sick messages on his phone has been jailed for almost seven years.
Bryan Russell-Keely, 36, pleaded guilty to more than 10 charges including sexual penetration of a girl under 16, production and possession of child abuse material and sexual assault of a child in the Bendigo County Court on Wednesday.
He was sentenced to six years and eight months in prison, but will be eligible for parole after four years.
The victim was a student at a secondary school in Bendigo, about 150 kilometres northwest of Melbourne.
The couple began messaging in May 2023, when Russell-Keely was 34, 20 years her senior.
He would take the boy to remote places in the woods to have sex and sometimes film the acts with his phone.
On one occasion, she was still wearing her uniform when he picked her up.

Russell-Keely warned his victim of the consequences she could suffer if she told anyone.
“You asked for his silence and his loyalty,” Judge Fiona Todd told him in her sentencing remarks, according to a statement. Age.

His depraved actions were revealed when his girlfriend discovered messages between him and the student in August 2023 and reported them to the police.
The PE teacher was arrested at school shortly afterwards, where he admitted he was “f***ed up”.
Despite being granted bail on condition that she refrain from contacting the victim, Russell-Keely harassed her with messages telling her she was a “beautiful angel” and “worth fighting for”.
“They were 14 and 15 years old,” the judge recalled.
‘After your offence was detected and you were released on bail, you persistently contacted her in an attempt to continue what you had deluded yourself into believing was an erotic and affectionate relationship.

‘Such a relationship was not possible between you, her teacher twenty years older than her, and a child.’
The girl said in a victim impact statement that the relationship had “distorted her understanding of love and intimacy”, leaving her with intense feelings of shame and sadness.
Judge Todd said it was a “trust-breaking event”.
“These are just some of the poisonous consequences for the victim and his family,” he added.
Russell-Keely will be a registered sex offender for life and will not be able to work as a teacher again.
