They may be mother and daughter, but Australian music veterans Marcia and Deni Hines no longer play happy families.

Deni, 51, was participating in a live Q&A on TikTok when she snapped at a fan asking about her mother, 68, amid rumors of a bitter family feud.

During the chat, the singer revealed that she now lived in Asia and had no plans to return to Sydney due to the skyrocketing inflation and cost of living in Australia.

“I have no intention of returning to Sydney unless I start making money. I want to live my life. I want to enjoy my life,” she told Daily Mail Australia during the live Q&A.

“I don’t want to run after me paying off a mortgage or struggling,” Deni explained.

‘I like to eat organic. I love good food. I don’t buy s**t food. Well, that’s expensive. That’s really expensive.’

Things took a turn for the worse when a fan asked Deni how she felt leaving her mother in Australia.

‘And my mother? Somebody help me out here before I fuckin’ twist,’ she snapped before taking a moment to breathe.

“There are things you just don’t ask me as a 51-year-old woman.

“Don’t fucking ask me about my mother, because you don’t care, and you don’t know her. She’s not your mother and you don’t care.’

She then went on to quote Will Smith’s famous line after he slapped Chris Rock at the Oscars when she said, “Keep my mother’s name out of your damn mouth.”

Woman’s Day reported last year that Deni and her mother “had a big fight” and that she had confided in her Dancing with the Stars castmates about their disagreement.

“There have been underlying tensions between them for a long time, but that’s very common for many mother-daughter relationships,” an insider told the magazine.

“Deni has never liked Marcia’s input about her career, and that always puts a strain on things.”

While fans may be shocked to hear of the family feud, rifts began to form in 2019 when Marcia revealed she hadn't seen her daughter's performance on The Masked Singer (pictured).

Marcia said she had no idea Deni would be on the Channel 10 show nor had any plans to watch her performance because reality TV is ‘not my thing’ – despite serving as a judge on Australian Idol between 2003 and 2009 popped up

The mother and daughter haven’t posted much about each other on Instagram since their trip to Thailand in 2018.

Marcia said, “I don't watch reality TV. Not my thing. I didn't know she was in it because she couldn't tell me she was in it, it was part of the contract.
