Tanjiro and his comrades remain combat-ready as they deal with an attack on Swordsmith Village, which is still ongoing in Demon Slayer Season 3 Episode 8. As they struggle to outsmart their opponents, that could soon change. It’s possible that the next episode will focus on Moichiro again, which could cause him to get ahead of Gyoko.

Episode 7 summary
The seventh episode of the third season, titled “Awful Villain,” splits its focus on Tanjirou and Genya facing off against a new enemy. While Moichiro is still trapped by Gyuko. The many forms of the Hantengu demon fused into one stronger form to challenge everyone. While everyone finds the appearance of this new demon to be terrible, the demon sees Tanjirou and Genya as horrific villains for their attempts to kill the miniature Hantengu.
However, his size and emotional state should not be underestimated due to his alternate forms and long history of killing humans. Although the demon may see his opponents in an inverted light, Hantengu’s long-term actions do not support him.
We also mention that Muichiro is trapped in a water jug by Gyokko at the end of the episode, but manages to escape with the help of a badly injured Kotetsu. What started as a tough fight turned into a stalemate, as Gyuko turned his attention away from Hashira to the swordsmith, Haganezuka.
While the comical and powerful swordsmith was very focused on the sword he was working on, this prevented him from paying attention to Gyuko or at least was ignoring him to finish the sword. This annoyed the upper demon and could end up undoing it, as he assumed Moichiro would definitely die while in the water pot.
Our expectations of Demon Slayer Season 3 Episode 8
Episode 8, titled “The Mu in Muichiro,” will likely focus primarily on Mist Hashira, similar to how Episode 6 focused on Genya’s backstory. One of Demon Slayer’s strengths is its ability to focus on some strong supporting characters. It makes every person feel important in themselves.
The story isn’t just about Tanjiro and Nezuko, but about the broader legion of demon slayers that the manga is named after. Moichiro’s past is shrouded in mystery and amnesia, while this lid can be unraveled, which could mean that Moichiro is either nearing his end or on the brink of triumph. If he wins, this would launch the season forward in a big way, although the fans know very well that recognizing Hashira isn’t always a good sign, as it is with Kyojuro.
