Democratic voters in Las Vegas remain committed to voting for President Joe Biden, even though they are painfully aware of his mental decline.
Voters who attended Vice President Kamala Harris’ rally in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Tuesday told DailyMail.com they are weighing whether they would agree if she had to replace Biden, 81.
Many shared that they felt it was a binary choice in 2024 and that they would still vote for Biden if he were running from a nursing home because it would mean not voting for former President Donald Trump.
“He reminded me of my mother five years before she passed away,” Kat, 67, said when asked about Biden’s disastrous debate performance. “She passed away at the end of last September and he reminded me of her for about five years before he passed away. He’s on that downward trend, you know?”
Harris hit the campaign trail this week as Biden’s team continues damage control from the president’s car crash debate with Donald Trump.

“We all knew his age when he came here, and the presidency ages most people very, very quickly. So it’s not surprising that he’s slowed down a bit,” consultant Vivienne Bailey-Reid, 61, told DailyMail.com.
“I feel she could run the country in the unfortunate event that there was any reason for him to have to step down,” he added.
Many voters say they are voting for the Democratic agenda rather than simply looking at the man at the top of the ticket. While they also believe it is “too late” for Biden to drop out of the race, Harris is the only natural choice in their minds to take his place.
“I think it’s too late,” said retired minister Mark Lukens, 68.
He added: “We’ll support whoever runs, but right now I think I’d support Joe Biden if I was talking on the phone from a nursing home.”
The vice president’s first stop of the weeklong campaign was Las Vegas on Tuesday, where she met with members of the U.S. Olympic basketball team before delivering remarks at the launch of the Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, Pacific Islanders for Biden group.
Then on Wednesday, she will be the keynote speaker at a sisterhood event in Dallas, Texas, before heading to the key swing state of North Carolina for a campaign stop in Greensboro.
During her remarks in Las Vegas, Harris voiced her support for Biden but did not directly address calls for her to lead the Democratic ticket in November.
Retired minister Mark Lukens, 68, said: “We’ll support whoever runs, but right now I think I’d support Joe Biden if I was talking on the phone from a nursing home.”
“We always knew this election would be tough, and the last few days have reminded us that running for president of the United States is never easy,” Harris said in defense of the incumbent president. “But the one thing we know about our president, Joe Biden, is that he is a fighter.”
“And he’s the first one to say that when you get knocked down, you get back up. We all know, a lot of us know what that means. So we’re going to keep fighting and we’re going to keep organizing and in November we’re going to win.”
Peter, a 51-year-old bellhop at the Palazzo Hotel on the Las Vegas Strip, told DailyMail.com: ‘I’ll crawl through the glass to vote for him.
“I love Joe Biden and his administration, but I hate the clown, the other guy. I don’t like it,” she said of the perceived binary choice in November. “A lot of my friends say, ‘Oh, you’re voting for Joe Biden because you hate Trump.’ But two things can be true at the same time.”
Laura Langford, 62, said after the debate that Biden “should have stepped aside and let the next generation in.”
