The liberal children of evangelical pastor Reverend Rick Joyner have spoken out against their famous father’s far-right rhetoric, saying it could trigger violence.

Joyner, 71, who founded MorningStar Ministries and has written a slew of best-selling books, believes that “liberals are allied with Satan and that the Democrats are conspiring to criminalize Christianity.”

But while Joyner is a staunch conservative, all five of his adult children identify as left-wing and have pursued careers as artists and activists.

The disobedient descendants – Anna Jane, Aaryn, Amber Grace, Ben, and Sam – spoke to The New York Times on Saturday, denouncing their father’s fundamentalism while describing their relationship with their father as “complicated.”

“He says Democrats are bad and forgets that all five of his kids vote Democrat,” daughter Anna Jane Joyner, 36, told the publication.

Anna Jane – who is a podcast and climate change activist – is especially troubled by her father’s recent claim that Joe Biden is a “Marxist who stole the election.”

She fears her father’s extreme views could lead to civil unrest.

“I think it is entirely possible that some of my father’s followers are picking up weapons and causing violence because they think they are defending the country.”

But despite her concerns, Anna Jane admitted that her father is still the first person to call in a crisis.

“He’s the one I go to in the middle of the night when … I’m really scared,” she admitted.

Son Sam Joyner, a 26-year-old ceramic artist, told The Times, “He’s causing damage in my opinion and he’s incredibly irresponsible.”

Ben Joyner, 28, said: 'I think what he's doing is morally wrong, but I love him. I don't want to hurt him, but when he's spreading dangerous ideas, it gets complicated. '

Her four siblings are similarly in conflict – they berate their father while admitting that they still care for him.

His brother Ben Joyner, a 28-year-old filmmaker, agreed, saying, ‘I think what he’s doing is morally wrong, but I love him. I don’t want to hurt him, but when he’s spreading dangerous ideas, it gets complicated. ‘

Meanwhile, musician Amber Grace Joyner, 30, said she’s’ a responsibility to hold those you love accountable ‘.

Aaryn joyner, 34, a farmer and florist, also admitted that she is ‘disappointed with what her father is saying’.

Meanwhile, Pastor Joyner also has conflicting feelings about his children.

“ One of my goals as a parent was to raise strong, independent kids, but I think I’ve overshot the runway, ” he said.

Yet he is in close contact with all five of his descendants.

He is depicted accompanying Anna Jane to a movie screening, and he even promoted a movie made by son Ben about a gay man in the South.

But Pastor Joyner believes a civil war is looming on the horizon and prays that his children will find a way out of leftist activism.

“I hope my children don’t get involved in the violence, but it is coming,” he said.
