The Missouri Democratic candidate was brutally mocked after he hit a television reporter with shrapnel from an AR-15 projectile during a campaign event Tuesday.

Senatorial hopeful Lucas Kunce was firing the gun during an appearance at a private field in Holt, Missouri, when a bullet fragment hit television reporter Ryan Gamboa in the arm.

The Democrat shot alongside former Republican Rep. Adam Kinzinger before bandaging the KSHB-TV reporter’s bloodied arm.

“Today is a great day in the field with my friend Adam Kinzinger,” Kunce wrote. “We had the opportunity to meet with some union workers while exercising our freedom.”

Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) took the opportunity to criticize his Democratic rival for his Senate seat.

“Always have your first aid kit on hand,” he continued in an X post.

‘Shrapnel can always fly when you hit a target like today, and you have to be prepared to do it. “We had four first aid kits, so we were able to take care of the situation, and I’m glad Ryan is okay and was able to continue reporting.”

Senator Josh Hawley He did not miss the opportunity to attack the man who was trying to take his seat in the elections that were only 14 days away.

“When liberals play with guns, people get hurt,” he wrote on X, adding a clown emoji.

In another post on Tuesday afternoon he asked: “Will the journalist who was shot at Kunce press charges?”

Kunce was holding a campaign event at a private residence near Holt, north of Kansas City, Missouri, on Tuesday when a bullet fragment from an AR-15 shot ricocheted off a target and struck the local reporter’s arm.

Kunce, who spent 13 years in the Marine Corps, wrapped gauze around Gamboa’s arm to stop the bleeding. The wound was then bandaged with tape.

After his arm was treated, Gamboa remained at the range to finish his task.

There is an image of the reporter holding a microphone during a joint interview with Kunce and Kinzinger with blood staining the extended arm of his shirt holding the microphone.

Kinzinger, who was an anti-Trump congressman from Illinois who now promotes Democrats, joined Kunce for his campaign event on Tuesday.

“I condemn all acts of violence against journalists and ask Kunce to never shoot another again,” Hawley wrote with laughing emojis.

Kunce will not have an easy time trying to unseat Hawley, who is seeking a second term in the U.S. Senate.

An Emerson College/The Hill poll from September shows Hawley with 51 percent support to Kunce’s 40 percent.
