Tallulah Willis, 26, spoke on Sunday about her close relationship with her mother Demi Moore.
Demi’s youngest daughter, with ex-husband Bruce Willis, shared photos of herself and her mom to mark the day, including one on the A-list actress ‘plucking splinters from my sandwiches’.
The post also saw Tallulah reflect on the couple’s complicated relationship, which at one point made them estranged from each other for three years.
Close: Tallulah Willis, 26, spoke out about her close relationship with her mum Demi Moore in a candid Mother’s Day post on Sunday, with a snapshot of her actress mom ‘plucking splinters from my buns’
In a photo that Tallulah shared on Sunday, Demi sees with concentration while helping her youngest out of a difficult situation.
“More accurately, I’m picking splinters out of my sandwiches with a magnifying glass,” Tallulah explained in the caption to the statue, lying face down while Demi goes to work.
A previous post saw Tallulah share a more traditional mother-daughter snap as the pair posed together in the garden, with a big smile on their faces.
Tallulah thought about their bond for a long time and wrote that she thought of those who had lost their mothers or had complicated relationships with them.
Frank message: The message also saw Tallulah reflect on the couple’s complicated relationship, which at some point made them estranged from each other for three years
Channeling love and strength for every mother, tired moms, stepmothers and moms who have lost something precious. I’m sending it to anyone who’s struggling to celebrate a day when it reminds them of a loss, “she wrote.
I haven’t talked to my mom for nearly 3 years and in that shattered time this day would take me from fragmented pieces to absolute dust. ‘
“I remember tearing up driving to work when I heard a radio ad cheerfully recommending which ‘perfume mom would absolutely appreciate’. I consumed the whole festive character of the day as an insensitive light to MY pain and MY story. ‘
Troubled Times: In a long caption, Tallulah reflected on their bond and wrote that she was thinking of those who lost their mothers or had complicated relationships with them
Tallulah went on to explain that “my story has changed,” and she and her mother cured their broken relationship.
‘Due to a metamorphosis of inner self-reflection and a deformability to forgive, 3 years did not last forever. The gratitude of that truth has never lost its power. ‘
“I am magnetically fixed by my mother, if you know me personally, you know how great her presence in my life is. I often wonder what kind of connection could be formed if I met 26-year-old Demi. I think we will laugh a lot. The kind where you keep silent and double and gasp. ‘
Sisters: Throwback: Tallulah’s sister Scout paid tribute to her younger sister’s words in her own Mother’s Day tribute, sharing a children’s movie of Demi with her three girls
“The here and now is a day that started with a running hug for my maternal deity and a messy cheek kiss. I enjoy everything you are and everything you keep teaching me. I witness what this day means to you and where you came from. Every nook and cranny of yours is worthy and gilded. I love you, ”Tallulah concluded her poignant post.
Tallulah and her sisters Rumer and Scout opened last year during a Red Table Talk about their alienation from Demi.
The Ghost star appeared with the trio in Jada Pinkett Smith’s Facebook Watch series, as an example of the conversation about how the family dealt with Demi’s addiction struggle, which was fueled by alcohol and painkillers.

“It was like a monster was coming,” said 26-year-old Tallulah. “I remember when I could feel her eyes closing a little bit more, like she was speaking, the fear came into my body. Or she would be much more affectionate if she wasn’t sober. ‘
Moore said in her memoir Inside Out that she was heavily drinking and using cocaine in her twenties before a mid-eighties rehabilitation period remained sober for nearly 20 years.
She said she had a relapse during a miscarriage during her 2005-2011 marriage to Ashton Kutcher, and that she had a seizure at a party in 2012 due to consuming nitrous oxide and synthetic cannabis.
Mixed family: The actress also shared a photo of her posing with her relatives, including her ex-husband Bruce Willis and his wife Emma and young daughters, writing that she was’ grateful to be with the family today (and every day) ‘
Rumer described the range of emotions she experienced when her mother was under the influence, in the series starring Smith, her daughter Willow and mother Adrienne Banfield-Jones.
“It was really weird and there were times when it would get mad,” said Rumer. “I remember feeling very upset and treating her like a child and talking to her like a child. It was not the mother we grew up with. ‘
Tallulah’s sister Scout paid tribute to her younger sister’s words in her own Mother’s Day tribute, sharing a children’s movie of Demi with her three girls.
Youth: Tallulah and her sisters Rumer and Scout opened a Red Table Talk last year about their alienation from Demi
“I love this woman so much. I’m not sure I could say it better than @buuski did so eloquently, so refer to a wonderful post here, “Scout wrote.
“But in my own experience, at various times in my life, this day has harbored both joy and deep, deep sorrow. Today, I am so thankful for all the amazing ups, growth-stunting downs and incredibly hard work that has continued in the relationship I have with my mom today. ‘
“Our communication, closeness and safety with each other pays tribute to that work and everything that has happened for us and not for us to promote this closeness.”
Meanwhile, Rumer wrote about Demi, “Mom, you are without a doubt one of the brightest people I’ve ever met. Your presence fills a room. You are crazy, smart and wise. I love that you like strange things and look at stuffed animals to choose the best. ‘
“That you sneak into the kitchen late at night for your special cookies. I love your strength, but I love your vulnerability even more. Thank you for bringing me into this world. I am thankful every day for choosing to do this crazy life with you. ‘
Demi and her daughters are currently isolating themselves with the girls’ father, Bruce Willis, and his own family in Idaho.
