This is the fifth year Delta has presented its own Christmas special for Nine and the first to be filmed outside Australia.

In 2021, the program had to change its Christmas name to Delta, to avoid confusion with the Covid-19 strain of the same name that was circulating at the time.

Channel Nine changed the name of the program to Christmas with Delta Goodrem, to avoid misunderstandings.

At the time, Delta indicated that it was quietly excited that the new Omicron variant was now the name on everyone’s lips.

The Born to Try star admitted she was relieved to no longer be synonymous with the virus.

Delta said on Sunrise that while she is “not happy” that the pandemic is still going on, she is pleased to see fewer negative headlines with her name.

‘Definitely, let’s move on. I don’t want to hear about this terrible Delta!’ he told the hosts.

“Get rid of her, get rid of her,” he added. ‘I was here first!’

Co-host Natalie Barr noted that “it must have been difficult” to hear her name on the news every day when Delta was the most prevalent Covid strain.

“It was definitely confusing watching them in the morning, when I woke up I’d hear ‘Delta in danger’ or ‘Delta out of control’ and I’d be like, ‘What?’ That?”‘

The former Neighbors star joked that he sometimes reacted to breaking news bulletins with, ‘What did I do?’ What happened?’

The confession comes after Delta revealed that her wedding plans with her fiancé Matthew, 37, have taken a backseat due to her hectic schedule.

She told WHO magazine that she’s been so absorbed in her bustling life that the couple hasn’t yet sat down to plan their big day.

Delta and Matthew, who have been dating since 2017, got engaged during a romantic getaway to Malta last September.

She confessed: ‘Don’t ask about the wedding. Things have been busy, but busy, the kind I’ve never been happier with.
