Delta Goodrem spoke about her awkward appearance on The Project during an interview last week The Kyle & Jackie O Show on Monday.
The 36-year-old singer had stumbled over her words after being asked about sexual harassment in the music industry last week.
But Delta claimed her confused response to the question had been because she couldn’t hear what the show’s panelists were asking her.

“I didn’t actually hear exactly what the exact question was, and I was processing it,” she explained.
Delta told radio hosts Kyle Sandilands and Jackie ‘O’ Henderson that she had appeared on The Project ‘on a link’, which made it difficult for her to hear.
Kyle, 49, said people accused Delta of trying to hide something after the awkward interview, but he assured listeners, “Delta isn’t a cover-upperer.”

The paralyzed singer was asked outright about rampant sexual harassment in the Australian music industry during a candid interview The project on Thursday.
Delta was stunned and unsure of how to respond after being asked if she was “shocked” to learn about the startling statistics.
Project panelist Kate Langbroek told Delta that about “96 percent” of women in the music industry had experienced sexual harassment on the job.

“Nobody deserves to feel unsafe in the workplace, and my heart breaks when hearing that figure,” Delta responded.
But Kate, 55, got on with the topic, asking Delta if she was surprised by the terrifying figure, which caused the Born to Try hitmaker to get lost in words.

“It’s completely surprising, and my heart is all … My heart is … You know, that really hurts to hear that, and I keep supporting the community and my girls and being there.”
A visibly emotional Delta then tapped her chest, adding, “And I, um, yeah, it’s absolutely very disturbing.”
Fellow panelist Lisa Wilkinson then stepped in and spoke about her recent interview with singer Deena Lynch, also known by her stage name Jaguar Jonze.

In the interview, which aired on Tuesday’s episode, the 29-year-old claimed that she had been sexually harassed by two music producers early in her career.
“They went straight for it … grabbing me, very sexually towards me …” Jaguar recalled in a candid interview.
She added: “I said verbally all the time,” No, no, no. I don’t want to do this. ”
Speaking of which, in a separate interview on The Project, singer Jaguar Jonze (pictured during a Eurovision press call on the Gold Coast in February 2020) claimed she had been sexually harassed by two music producers early in her career.
Lisa, 61, asked Delta how she felt seeing other women in the music industry “ push back ” against that kind of behavior.
Delta said it was “incredibly important for women to share their stories and speak from their hearts and their experience.”
She described it as ‘incredibly powerful’ and added that other women would feel ‘safe to be able to speak and step forward’ by speaking.
