A furious plane passenger has shared the moment he confronted a fellow passenger for playing a movie loudly on his phone.

In a post on Reddit in the Delta Airlines Thread, The user explained how his seatmate was watching something at ‘full volume’ the entire time the plane was boarding.

‘It was so loud that the people behind me were complaining. Many looks from neighbors but nothing,’ they shared.

After a while, the passenger admitted that he couldn’t take it anymore and went to talk to the offending passenger after he couldn’t find a flight attendant.

“After 15 minutes I finally got up and asked them if they could lower the volume (maybe they said it in a certain tone),” they admitted.

The person’s partner was visibly upset and the couple rolled their eyes, but ended up rejecting him.

‘Normally I never say anything and put my headphones on. But this was so loud that you could still hear it through the headphones,’ they complained.

“I’m glad I said something because it was very peaceful,” they added.

The interaction encouraged other users to share their own stories about annoying mid-flight interactions.

“On Sunday I flew with red eyes. After dinner service, I put on my eye mask and earplugs, but I still heard my neighbor watching videos on his phone. I asked them if they had headphones; of course not. “They took the hint and stopped making noise,” one person recalled.

‘People who use speakerphone or watch media without headphones in public are the WORST. Zero concept of being considerate of other people. It’s completely mind-blowing to me,’ someone else complained.

‘Yes, I have experienced this. They should use headphones. “I don’t understand how anyone thinks behavior is acceptable… but lately my standards have been tested,” wrote another.

‘There is always one on every flight. Good to say the least,” praised another.

Some even shared times when people had ignored their headphones in other settings.

“Not on a plane, but at my gym about a month ago there was an older woman on the elliptical machine next to me with a podcast or audiobook blaring,” one user shared.

They continued: ‘I took off the headphones and asked him to turn them down and I realized it was actually about the value of silence and the absence of noise.

“The irony completely blew my mind.”

The etiquette surrounding flying is a much talked about and divisive topic.

Recently, flight attendants have revealed all the things a passenger should never do while flying.

Chris Price and Isold Wilberg Antonsdóttir cited going barefoot, changing babies’ diapers in their seats, leaving trash, and being disorganized with luggage as recent passenger faux pas.
