A shocking new investigation into the Delphi murders has raised questions about the suspect accused of the brutal double murder, claiming 14-year-old Libby German was “nearly decapitated” when she was killed alongside her friend Abby Williams, 13.
Few details have been released about the cause of the girls’ deaths in the six years since their February 2017 murders, until a new CrimeNation documentary this week included claims that Libby was nearly decapitated “out of anger.”
The admission was seen in text messages from someone at the scene that were later leaked online, and also claimed that “whoever did it was probably targeting Libby” and that the 14-year-old girl “fought like hell.”
In October 2022, police made their first breakthrough with the arrest of 50-year-old Richard Allen.
However, the new documentary pointed to a new killer, the owner of the property where the girls were discovered, Ron Logan, in chilling new claims from his ex-girlfriend.

Ron Logan, owner of the property where the teenagers were found, is claimed as the real killer in his ex-girlfriend’s new documentary. He died from Covid-19 in January 2022

Logan, who died in January 2022 from Covid-19, He was one of the first suspects investigated by investigators and made several media appearances after the murders as they gained national attention.
After key evidence emerged (a photo of the killer and a recording of his voice taken by Libby on her phone), Logan appeared on Inside Edition to claim that he didn’t recognize the person or the voice of anyone he had seen on his property.
But his ex-girlfriend Connie Dillman said she has no doubt that Logan was in the clips and said she insisted to authorities that her ex is the killer.
“That’s your voice,” he said of Logan. ‘I heard the voice ‘downhill’ thousands of times. It’s Ron Logan.
Dillman said she began her six-year relationship with Logan after meeting him at a bar in Delphi, Indiana, and they quickly bonded over their love of horses and the outdoors.
But she said their relationship went downhill in no time, when he began to control her daily life and treat her like a ‘sexual tool’.
“When I didn’t want to have sex, he made me do it,” she said. “He was helpless.”
She claimed that once she tried to leave, he hit her in the head with a wrench, leaving her with seven stitches.
Shortly after ending their relationship, the murders of the two teenagers shook the Delphi community and made national headlines, leading Dillman to be certain her ex-lover was the killer when she saw it on television.
The last video taken on Libby’s cell phone showed a man wearing a blue Carhartt jacket and jeans approaching the two teens.
Logan was one of the first suspects to appear on police radar after the murders, and his ex-girlfriend said he was physically and sexually violent toward her.
Logan’s ex-girlfriend Connie Dillman (pictured) said that after seeing her ex-lover on television after the murders, she had no doubt he was the real killer.
Shocking text messages leaked after the murders, claiming Libby (left) was the “target” of the murder.
After the murders gained national attention, law enforcement agencies were criticized for not revealing details of the crime, a factor they cited for wanting to maintain control of the investigation and not reveal information that only the killer would have known.
Amid the frustration over information, lurid text messages from someone at the crime scene were leaked online, which the documentary says were shared by Abby’s uncle, David Erskin.
The text read: ‘Me and my other sister’s boyfriend were the ones who found the girls on Tuesday. The coroner’s report indicated that it was all over at 3:30. No violation. Abby was dressed. Libby was naked.
‘Libby’s top half was covered in leaves and sticks, almost as if they were trying to cover her.
‘The only DNA would be from Libby’s fingernails. She fought like hell. Whoever did it targeted Libby for sure and she knew what she was doing with Abby. It was personal with Libby.
An expert in the case added that “there was talk that Libby was almost decapitated, which appears to have been done out of rage.”
Scrutiny has fallen on the investigation and arrest of Allen following his arrest, particularly due to the evidence presented in Allen’s probable cause affidavit.
In November 2022, the affidavit cited only one piece of evidence linking Allen to the murders: an unspent bullet casing from the scene.
The .40 bullet was found unfired within two feet of the girls, and analysis of the bullet found it to be a match for Allen’s firearm.
It’s unclear how the bullet would have gotten into the gun, never been fired and then ended up between the two bodies.
Two weeks later, DailyMail.com exclusively revealed that shortly after Allen’s arrest, one of his neighbors saw police digging in his garden to exhume his family’s dead cat.
The feline’s hair also turned out to match the samples found on one of the victims.
The shocking report also revealed that investigators were investigating whether the girls were victims of a botched kidnapping plot by a local pedophile ring.
Sources close to the investigation claimed that Allen was acting with at least two other men and was involved in a child sex ring, and Carroll County Prosecutor Nicholas McLeland openly stated that he believes “Allen is not the only actor involved.” in this”.
