Tottenham could lose £10m, and Dele Alli looks unlikely to feature prominently for Everton again.
If Alli makes 20 appearances for Everton, Tottenham will receive a £10m fee.
However, Alli, whose Everton contract expires this summer, appears unlikely to reach that milestone.
As reported by MirrorTottenham tried to renegotiate the payment in December, but were unsuccessful.
Tottenham suggested the payment could be reduced to £8m if the required number of appearances were also reduced.

Alli signed for Everton in January 2022, but has only played 13 times for the Toffees so far.

Alli signed for Everton from Tottenham in January 2022, but has not played for the Toffees since August of that year. The midfielder was on loan at Besiktas last season during which he played 15 times and scored three goals.
The deal which saw Alli join Everton was worth up to £40m, including performance-related add-ons.
During his time at Goodison Park, the 27-year-old has struggled with a number of injury problems.
Last year, Alli opened up about her struggle with addiction following a challenging upbringing.

The former England international required groin surgery and is a long way from returning and Everton manager Sean Dyche recently admitted that Alli may not play for Everton this season following his latest injury setback.
Between 2015 and 2022, Alli played 269 games for Tottenham and scored 67 goals.
