Customer reaches out to recover his $6

A 17-year-old manager of a snow cone stand in Willis, Texas, set the record straight with a customer who called her a b*tch.

The confrontation between the middle-aged woman and two young workers at Keke’s Snow Balls was caught on security cameras and later posted on Tik Tokwhere it has received more than 15 million views.

A girl was at the register when the shaved ice ‘Karen’ arrived complaining that she had paid $6 in advance so her daughter could come later to pick up a snow cone.

The woman, dressed in a floral shirt and sunglasses, said her daughter was not given the shaved ice cream even though she claimed her mother had already paid for it in advance.

Despite some initial confusion, the customer manages to get her $6 back, but then decides to go back and curse one of the employees.

A teenage manager gives him back the $6

In this split-screen image, customer Karen is seen handing the $6 back to the teenage manager. Despite getting exactly what she said she wanted, Karen will soon return with nothing good to say.

The title of the TikTok video states that there was a shift change, which meant that the two girls working the booth when the daughter arrived were not aware of this arrangement the woman had made.

When the girl at the register slightly questioned her story by asking if the woman had given her her customer number, frozen treat ‘Karen’ lets out an exasperated sigh and heads to the order window.

“I came here alone and paid for a snow cone plus an extra six dollars so that when she wanted a snow cone she could come get it,” she said.

“You didn’t give him the snow cone.”

That’s when the older teenage manager, who had been listening to the tense interaction while performing strange tasks in the background, gently pushes the younger girl aside, reaches into the register, and hands the woman the six dollars.

The girl then closes the window, which knocks down a sign.

It’s unclear if the customer saw this as some sort of invitation to more conflict, but seconds later, the younger girl sees the woman return.

“Oh, no,” she said.

When the teenager opens the window again to put the sign back up, the customer, flush with six dollars, decides to tear down the sign.

“Bitch,” the woman calls her.

After Karen calls her a bitch, this 17-year-old manager lashed out at her and told her not to act like that because she's a grown woman.

After Karen calls her a bitch, this 17-year-old manager lashed out at her and told her not to act like that because she’s a grown woman.

But she doesn’t take the unwarranted insult lightly, responding and appearing much more mature than the woman many years her senior.

‘Ma’am, please don’t act like that, you’re a grown woman!’ she yells.

The customer is heard shouting something, but the teenager intervenes.

I’m 17 years old, get out of here! Don’t come back. Don’t come back. We don’t need your business.

Arguably the best part of the video is when the younger girl smiles as she watches the defeated customer walk away.

One of the top comments on the viral TikTok video urged the company to promote the intrepid young manager.

Another wrote: “The way she listened to the entire conversation while multitasking in the office. A great leader.”

Most commentators were amazed by the maturity with which the teenager behaved and loved the way she stood up for her younger co-worker.

“When he came back and the little girl said ‘oh no’ and stepped back… the poor baby was scared,” one person noted.

The owner of Keke’s Snow Balls addressed this unnecessarily thorny situation in the video’s title.

“I am proud of the way our supervisor handled the situation. While companies often face complaints, it is rare for mistreatment of staff to be highlighted,” they wrote. “We must strive for better behavior and respect in all interactions.”
