Gandhi was on Friday disqualified from the Lok Sabha, a day after a court in Surat convicted him in a libel case. The disqualification will disallow 52-year-old Gandhi, a four-time MP, from objecting to surveys for 8 years unless a greater court remains his conviction and sentence. “The expulsion of Rahul Gandhi from parliament is a deep betrayal of Gandhian viewpoint and India’s inmost worths,” Indian-American Congressman Ro Khanna stated in a tweet. “This is not what my grandpa compromised years in prison for,” Khanna included.
