Human remains have been discovered on a popular beach on the New South Wales north coast.
A volunteer found the decomposed body on Jetty Beach in Coffs Harbor shortly after 10am on Tuesday.
The person was on the beach when he found bones in the dunes about 10 meters from a picnic spot.

It is understood that the remains may have been there for some time, due to the absence of meat or clothing in the surrounding area.
