A travel influencer caused an online stir after sharing his extensive list of airplane etiquette rules.
Ben Keenan, of Seattle, took to TikTok to reveal the do’s and don’ts for all passengers on the flight.
The 30-year-old’s instructions included always greeting the cabin crew, making sure you had headphones on and specifying in advance what type of passenger you wanted to be.
But the video left other social media users deeply divided as the debate over aircraft etiquette continued.

In the clip, which has been viewed more than 343,000 times after he reposted it last week, Ben speaks to the camera as he scrolls through the menu.
He begins: “At the very least, you should greet flight attendants at the start of the flight because guess what?
Not only do they not get paid for the time they’ll be standing there, but they also look for physically strong individuals who can help during an emergency – and guess who wouldn’t be rude a** to that short list if it came down to it.
“May your life be in my hands – so get better and better.”
The content creator continues: “Don’t take off your shoes or socks while sitting in your chair, you disgust people.
And while we’re at it, I don’t have to say this but I feel it’s necessary for some of you – you won’t be changing your baby’s diaper in that seat either. There’s a changing table in the bathroom for a reason.
Then, he adds, “When hosts come in with drink carts, make sure your elbows, feet, knees, head, everything is out of the way.
They’re trying to get over it and shouldn’t be asking you more than once.

When choosing your seat before the flight, go ahead and decide what type of flight you want to be in – are you a sleeper or are you an awake person?
“Because if you’re on an aisle seat, you need to be prepared to stand up and move out of the way a few times during the flight — I know that sucks but it really means you shouldn’t sleep.”
But Ben doesn’t stop there.
Then he warns you not to tilt your seat and also to bring scented items onto the plane.
The travel blogger, who has more than 82,000 followers on the platform, adds that headphones are “mandatory for you and your kids.”
“When the plane finally lands, there are only two rules you have to follow,” Ben concludes.
First, we don’t clap unless we’re on sprite lines and two, we don’t stand up straight away because guess what? Even though your knees hurt, so do the rest of ours and we have to wait until we get to the actual gate.
They also aren’t kidding when they talk about things changing in overhead bins on the fly because guess what? If you open that up without noticing, it totally kicks you out and not in the fun way.
But the video sparked a backlash with social media users left deeply divided in the comments.

Another added: “Why don’t people know this stuff!!!!”
A third joked, “This video needs to be played exactly before and after the demo.”
But, on the flip side, there were those who disagreed as they sorted out many feelings.
One commented, “No… definitely take my shoes off! And I’m not going back to check… I’ll lean back gently though.”
Someone argued: ‘No shoes outside?’ There are airlines that provide me with bags to put my shoes in when I inevitably take them off. decent.’
Another simply asked: What’s the harm in standing in my seat?
