DC people shake off the misery of the longest government stop in history with SNOWBALL FIGHT

With the partial closure of the federal government now officially the longest in history on its 23rd day, people in our nation's capital are blowing steam with snowball fights, and even the police are coming.

A wintry storm covers Washington, DC, with fresh powder on Saturday, giving bargoers and police the opportunity to solve their aggression late at night.

And on Sunday, the Washington DC Snowball Fight Association improvised a fight on the west side of the Washington Monument, as the usual locations were closed by the National Park Service in the middle of the federal freeze.

The last moment took place between 1 PM and 3 PM and was announced via Facebook, which read: & # 39; All leave, except and other residents and visitors of DC are welcome to participate! & # 39;

The last longest-running government shutdown on record lasted 21 days at the end of 1995 and early 1996, under President Bill Clinton.

From a snow-covered patio outside a bar in DC, video-committed guests create snow from tables and snowballs to uniformed officers in the street.

The agents took their own balls of ice in turn and threw them over as they collected their ammunition from the tops of snow-covered cars that were parked on the road.

Smiles were on everyone's face when they temporarily forgot the problems of the work week.
