Davina McCall turned heads in 2025 as she reflected on her wild party days and shared an epic snap on Instagram showing what she was up to on New Year’s 1993.
In a post on Monday, Davina revealed that she feels like she’s been given a “second chance at life” after surviving a life-threatening brain tumor.
The tumor was detected in a private clinic after she was offered a medical check-up after participating in a talk about menopause.
And weeks after a successful operation to remove the growth, Davina told how her survival feels like a “gift” as she reflects on the success of her new podcast Begin Again.
Taking to Instagram on Monday, the TV star recorded a video thanking fans for their support on her latest project, while also looking back on her own health journey and admitting she feels like she’s “started over.” .
She explained: ‘Thank you for joining me on my Begin Again podcast. I loved recording this podcast and I loved meeting everyone.
‘What I enjoyed about recording this podcast is that it is very broad. Starting over can mean anything, it can mean something similar to what I just went through, which is having a life-threatening tumor and having it removed.
‘I feel like I’ve started again, I mean in the strangest sense, I guess because I’ve had a positive result. It’s like having a second chance at life. It’s an incredible feeling, almost like I’ve been given a gift.”
The former Big Brother host then listed other ways starting over relates to other people, as she listed things like a huge crisis, losing a job, a divorce or an accident.
Davina added that she will be available to support those who feel they are “stuck” in life or just need “a kick in the butt” as she spoke about her hopes and plans for the future of the podcast.

After a few moments of reflection, he concluded by adding: ‘I found Christmas very challenging in the past and now I don’t find it anymore. So there is always the possibility of new beginnings… always.
“I think next year will be a nightmare. I’ve become very self-reflective!”
Davina previously explained that she received the diagnosis by chance after scheduling herself for a “health screening.”
Davina said in a video: “I was offered a health check and I thought it was going to be great, but it turned out I had a benign brain tumour, which is very rare, three in a million.”
Weeks after a successful operation to remove the growth, Davina told how her survival feels like a ‘gift’ as she reflects on the success of her new podcast Begin Again.
“I had my head in the sand a little bit for a while, visited some neurosurgeons, had a lot of opinions and realized I needed to get it out.
‘It’s quite big, it’s 14 mm wide and you have to remove it because if it grows it would be bad. I’m going to have it removed.
He added: ‘Say a prayer for me. I’m in a good mood.’
Davina explained that while she was not at any immediate risk, doctors were concerned that the tumor could grow and cause complications.
She revealed that she had been feeling “up and down” and explained that she would be in hospital for at least nine days before returning home.
A colloid cyst is a slow-growing tumor that is usually found near the center of the brain and contains gelatinous material. Benign growths are usually asymptomatic and found incidentally during imaging tests.
If symptoms occur as the tumor grows, they are commonly reported to include headaches that are most severe in the morning upon waking, nausea, and blurred vision, with other key signs including vertigo and double vision.
Most patients experience headaches, although other symptoms such as vertigo, memory problems, and double vision may occur.
If large enough, a colloid cyst obstructs the movement of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) in the brain, leading to a high risk of sudden death.
