“And that’s why I post all my workout videos. So if I do a workout in the morning and someone below replies, ‘Oh, thanks, you just reminded me that I’m going today,’ that’s great.”

In August, Davina stunned by showing off her age-defying figure in a ruffled red two-piece outfit paired with cowboy boots, in a snap that has nearly 80,000 likes.

She paired the bandeau bikini with a red shoulder bag and a pair of oversized sunglasses, while her brunette locks fell in loose waves.

Many of Davina’s famous friends were quick to praise the star’s photo, with former Pussycat Doll Ashley Roberts saying she was picking her “jaw off the floor”.

“I’m on vacation,” Davina wrote in the caption. “I had to. Anyone up for some tea?”

Last week, Davina explained why she refuses to act or dress her age and revealed that the new series of My Mum, Your Dad made her cry.

Ahead of her return, Davina spoke about what she has in common with the contestants and recalls a particularly poignant moment from the new series.

Davina said: ‘Our age group, we’re the first of a new generation of middle-aged people. We’re the people who went to raves, took drugs, we’re pioneers. We were naughty, we were fun, we were outrageous… and then we had kids.

‘We settled in, we were good people for 18 years, and now we’re like, ‘Well, let’s start over. ‘ It’s like having a second chance at life, and we’re making the kids see that second chance.’

Davina hit back at body critics on Instagram after they accused her of being “too skinny” in May.

She shared a video response to comments she said had left her “furious.”

She hit out at “cruel” trolls who she said expected her as a celebrity to just “accept” the taunts before declaring she “felt and looked absolutely f***ing great”.

“I thought I’d make a quick post about the kind of abuse I’m receiving because of my weight. It’s really frustrating,” she told her followers.

‘I feel like people post these things and then there are no consequences because they can post whatever they want and be cruel and I just have to accept it.

“Actually, I was just sitting there feeling furious, so I thought I’d vent it out here.”

She continued: “I’m a 5’5″ woman who weighs 130 pounds. I don’t diet. I exercise. I eat relatively healthy and I enjoy sharing that journey with people.”

Davina slammed “cruel” trolls who she said expected her, as a celebrity, to “get the taunts” before declaring she “felt and looked absolutely fantastic”.

“I’m turning 57 this year and I’m happy with the way I look and feel absolutely great. That’s why I thought I’d post this here.

“I can’t do much with my neck and face unless I fill them with filler. I don’t know what to do with my neck.

“And maybe the lighting was bad or something and all, but all you have to do is look at the rest of my posts on my page and see that I’m not sick.”

And he ended by saying, “But this was horrible. So I’m just going to leave it there and say think before you post something.”

“Wouldn’t it be nicer to say something positive? And if you can’t say anything positive, don’t bother.”
