David Neres played a starring role as an excellent substitute as Napoli came from behind to beat Parma 2-1 on Saturday, but his dream night soon turned into a nightmare.
The winger, making only his second appearance for Napoli after joining from Benfica 10 days earlier, set up Frank Anguissa’s winner in the fifth minute of added time after Romelu Lukaku had equalised moments earlier.
Neres and his wife Kira Winona left the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium in a large black car.
However, they did not get far when armed thugs allegedly attacked the vehicle, smashing one of the windows.
Winona later posted on Instagram: “David wants to apologize to the fans who were waiting for him outside. As he was trying to leave the stadium after the game, two men on a motorcycle vandalized his car and stole him at gunpoint.”
David Neres and his wife Kira Winona were photographed getting out of a car in Naples on Saturday night.
One of the car’s windows had been smashed, allegedly by two armed robbers on a motorcycle.
Former Ajax winger Neres and his partner were escorted to a hotel after their ordeal.
Winona posted a message on Instagram explaining what had happened to her and Neres.

A video taken after the alleged attack showed Neres and his partner being escorted out of a damaged car to the safety of a hotel as fans screamed and cheered in the background.
Neres joined Napoli in a deal worth around £23.5m. He made his debut in last weekend’s 3-0 win over Bologna, providing an assist during a five-minute cameo.
He then had almost half an hour of play on Saturday as Napoli came back from 1-0 down to beat 10-man Parma.
