Former West Ham United manager David Moyes recalled how he was caught on camera singing a controversial fan chant after the 2023 Europa Conference League final.
The song was about Hammers striker Jarrod Bowen and his partner Dani Dyer, daughter of actor and television presenter Danny Dyer.
Sung to the tune of Gala’s ‘Freed From Desire’, it included the X-rated lyrics: ‘Bowen is on fire and he’s fucking Dani Dyer.’
Bowen has scored 60 goals for West Ham in the last three seasons.
His most famous of those 60 goals was the 90th-minute winner against Fiorentina in June 2023 at the Fortuna Arena in Prague.

West Ham United manager David Moyes did not hold back in his celebrations that night.
Moyes was pictured singing alongside his Hammers players after the game in Prague.

Bowen’s goal gave the Hammers their first European title since 1965 and was followed by wild celebrations.
In the midst of those celebrations, Moyes and his players joined the West Ham fans in singing a loud chorus: “Bowen’s on Fire.”
Moyes was asked about his involvement in this during an appearance on the ‘Football Music & Me’ podcast with Geoff Shreeves earlier this month.
Shreeves asked Moyes: “Do you join in when the crowd sings the Dani Dyer song?”
After laughing awkwardly, a smiling Moyes, who left West Ham at the end of the 2023-24 season, replied: “Do you know something?” The camera caught me singing it in Prague and I had to walk away at the last lines.
‘I had to turn my back and walk away but, by the way, he was definitely singing it.
“After I scored that goal, I was actually singing it.”
Moyes opened up about his antics as a singer when he was a guest on the ‘Football Music & Me’ podcast.
Bowen and Dyer have been in a relationship since 2021 and have three children together.

Bowen and Dyer went public with their relationship in December 2021 and have since welcomed three children into the world.
Earlier this year, Dyer was asked on the ‘Straight to the comments!’ podcast for his thoughts on the song about his burning man.
She responded: “I went to an away game not long ago and I usually don’t like going to those games because there are die-hard fans who are crazy.”
“I really needed a drink so I thought, to be honest, I’d rather have died of dehydration, that was the best option.”
‘I came out and everyone was looking at me and everyone was singing the song, I was literally in the middle of the crowd. It’s fine, it’s so fine that it doesn’t really bother me.’
Bowen is currently on international duty with England at Euro 2024. He earned his eighth cap for the Three Lions in a 3-0 friendly win over Bosnia and Herzegovina earlier this month.
