David Moyes has insisted he wants to remain in management after his departure from West Ham was confirmed earlier this week.
Moyes, 61, will leave the Hammers at the end of the season after four-and-a-half years in charge, with former Wolves boss Julen Lopetegui replacing him.
The Scot will work as a pundit for the BBC and talkSPORT during this summer’s European Championship, but says he will be eager to return to the dugout after a short break.
“Yes, that would be the answer,” Moyes said when asked if he wanted to return to training.
‘The first and most important thing would be a rest. Last year we won the (UEFA Conference League) final on June 7 and we returned on July 1 to go to Australia (for pre-season). We had three weeks off.

“If you look at the number of games we have played in the last two years and the little time we have had as a break… I strive to work as hard as possible at each club and I have tried.” do the same at West Ham too. It has been many hours and a lot of effort.
‘So I’m going to take a break. But I really want to work for the BBC and Talksport at the Euro, work for UEFA. I want to stay really involved in football. I really love football.
“I hope I can give a lot back to the younger managers. I’m interested in coaching education, I’m interested in working on the coaching side, I’m involved with the LMA (League Managers Association). There are a lot of things I hope I can choose to do later in life. But I’m still not sure I want to give up the whistle and the stopwatch.’
West Ham fans will have the chance to say goodbye to Moyes in their final home game of the season against Luton on Saturday afternoon, but the manager insisted he is not worried about having a grand send-off.

“To be honest, it’s not my style. I don’t mean that in a bad way. I think I’m quite shy behind all this.
‘I’m grateful for the praise and I’m grateful for the support I’ve always had. “Maybe the club feels it’s right from their point of view.”
