What burning madness!
American airman Aaron Bushnell, a clearly disturbed and mentally ill man, burned himself alive this weekend outside the Israeli embassy in DC in an apparent “protest” against the war in Gaza.
Terrifying footage, which Bushnell broadcast live, shows him dousing his Air Force uniform with lighter fluid before setting himself on fire and shouting “Free Palestine” as his flesh literally melts.
It was violent, perhaps quite selfish and deeply shocking, especially for the brave embassy guards who had to respond to the incident. Imagine having to see, hear and smell such horror.
And yet, the social media buildup of the terminal left online saw Bushnell instantly feted as a martyr to the Palestinian cause.

Cue a series of repulsive posts praising Bushnell’s suicide as “brave” and that he can “rest in power.” There were even cartoons of him on fire, commemorating his violent act.
Some users mocked a security guard who pointed his gun at Bushnell. How ridiculous; This happened in front of a very sensitive diplomatic property – the Israeli embassy – and no one knew what might happen next. Preparing to respond with lethal force seems eminently sensible.
It is also obvious to any sensible person what this tragedy was: dangerous extremism committed by a suspected anarchist and former cult member. A suicide disguised as a protest that no sane or caring person could tolerate celebrating.
Yet for all their #BeKind claims of mental health awareness, the desperate left can’t help themselves.
As vigils and evil icons appeared outside the DC embassy in the hours after the incident, here was independent presidential candidate and professional bigot Cornell West, shamelessly co-opting Bushnell’s death to bolster his own sinking reputation in an X post:
‘Let us never forget the extraordinary courage and commitment of Brother Aaron Bushnell, who died for truth and justice!…Let us rededicate ourselves to genuine solidarity with Palestinians suffering genocidal attacks in real time!’
Jill Stein, Green Party presidential candidate – who are Are you kidding me? – did the same: ‘May their sacrifice deepen our commitment to stopping genocide now.’
In my opinion, these hysterical calls to action come painfully and dangerously close to actively encouraging others to do the same. Literally taking your own life over a war the United States isn’t even fighting.
But let’s be clear: Bushnell did not die “for truth and justice.” Self-immolation is not “genuine solidarity” with the Palestinian cause. There was no “sacrifice” on display outside the Israeli embassy.
No, he died by violent and unnecessary suicide, no doubt tormented by cult-induced demons. Insisting otherwise does not make you any better than the Hamas butchers who wrote this ISIS-style obituary for Bushnell:
“He will remain immortal…he gave his life to shed light on the Zionist massacres and ethnic cleansing against our people in the Gaza Strip.”
This is death squad level stuff.

But it is not the first time that the purple-haired group in the United States, crazed after the October 7 attacks, has fallen for the lies and charm of our enemies.
Remember when TikTokers lined up to express their admiration for Osama bin Laden’s post-9/11 ‘Letter to America’.
“Just read it… my eyes have been opened,” one user wrote.
And it’s not just Generation Z. Harvard and UPenn have lost a president over anti-Semitism on campus.
Meanwhile, the ranks of our Democratic Party are filled with pro-Hamas radicals like Rashida Tlaib and her Squad mates.
We are now a nation captivated by radical Islam. And it’s making us sick.
All good and decent Americans should mourn Bushnell’s needless death, but we must do so with one clear truth in mind:
Hamas has claimed yet another life, this time with vile lies and manipulation instead of bullets or bombs.
We are all in the crosshairs of these terrorists, who will gladly kill us or, better yet, incite us to ensure our own extinction.
