A gentle slap on the wrist for Hunter and a straight punch in the nose for the rest of us.
Call me naive, but I didn’t expect it to be so blatant.
On Tuesday, Joe Biden’s Justice Department offered our troubled first son a plea deal for tax evasion and illegal possession of firearms.
After a 5-year federal investigation, countless hours of labor and gallons of newspaper ink spilled, America’s least favorite deadbeat father seems to have received the sweetest of offers.
For these alleged crimes, dear old H, a former crack and prostitute connoisseur, should be free with little more than probation.
Hunter allegedly failed to pay Uncle Sam at least $200,000 out of $1.5 million in earnings between 2017 and 2018. And for that, the Biden scion was sentenced to two miserable misdemeanors.
Then we have a firearms charge.
Deep in his addiction, Hunter allegedly lied during a federal background check and claimed he was clean, when he was not. For that, Hunter will likely receive a pre-trial diversion agreement. Translation, no penalty.
The first question we have to ask ourselves is why exactly did this case go on for 5 years? It’s longer than the Russian collusion investigation. It’s longer than World War II, by the way.
At this time, there is no explanation for this other than a whistleblower’s claim that the DOJ “slowed down” the investigation.

“When I took control of this particular investigation, I immediately saw deviations from the normal process,” Gary Shapley, a 14-year veteran of the IRS, told CBS News last month. “It was way outside the norm of what I’ve experienced in the past.”
What else did we not see in the plea deal?
Any mention of the Foreign Agents Registration Act, which sent Trump’s 2016 campaign manager Paul Manafort to jail.
This glaring omission exists despite the fact that Hunter, along with eight members of his family, allegedly took millions of dollars from a Chinese company with close ties to the Communist government.
And finally, for those paying close attention, there was something else odd about today’s announcement.
Hunter was offered a plea deal before he was arrested and the case concluded — or so it seemed.
“The investigation is ongoing,” read a DOJ press release on Tuesday.
Hunter’s attorney saw things differently. “I understand that the five-year investigation into Hunter is resolved,” attorney Christopher Clark said.
I’m sure Clark is right. They put Hunter’s problems behind him.
Good for you, Hunter. Bad for us, America.
If you didn’t think about it before, you think about it now: there are two levels of justice in America.
Do you think anyone else in America would get the same treatment?
Criminal defense lawyer Arthur Aidala says they wouldn’t.
“I’ve handled 100 federal criminal cases. For any ordinary person charged with a $200,000 tax liability, federal prosecutors would recommend jail time,” he told me. “Additionally, they negotiated a plea deal before an arrest and even the conclusion of the discovery process. All in all, this is a “kids glove” treatment taken to the extreme.
It sounds absolutely terrible to Americans. In fact, it looks like an abomination of justice.
And President Biden has been actively interfering with this investigation from almost the beginning.

Last month, he told MSNBC, “My son has done nothing wrong…I trust him. I trust him.
Last year, the First Lady made interference a family affair. “Everyone and their brother investigated Hunter,” she told NBC News in October. “They persist, and continue, and continue. I know Hunter is innocent.
Well, he’s certainly not innocent, but he might as well be.
The double standard is undeniable.
President Biden demands wealthy Americans “pay their fair share” of taxes, while his son cheats on his tax returns.
Democrats say ‘no one is above the law’ as Donald Trump is indicted for allegedly mishandling classified documents at Mar-a-Lago and faces the prospect of spending the rest of his life in jail, but Hunter skates.
Let’s not forget that Trump was also indicted in New York under a suspicious new legal theory that allowed a biased prosecutor to criminalize sordid payoff to a porn star.
And Trump, along with the nation, fell victim to a shoddy Russian collusion hoax.
No, the Hunter Biden saga cannot end here. There are too many points lost.

It sounds absolutely terrible to Americans. In fact, it looks like an abomination of justice. And President Biden has been actively interfering with this investigation from almost the beginning.
But take my word for it, the next time there’s an explosive Hunter title, the mainstream media will pretend it’s old news. After all, they will be giving a lecture, a Trump-appointed US attorney has investigated all of this and determined that the First Son is in the clear.
Please remember it’s complete bs
In the words of Joe Biden, “Where’s the money?”
That’s right. And the good news is that with Republicans in control of the House of Representatives, we hope to find out.
Two weeks ago, a closely guarded FBI form allegedly revealed allegations that a Ukrainian oligarch paid Hunter and another unidentified Biden family member $5 million each for their help in quashing an investigation into the corruption of his business.
This week, DailyMail.com reported emails showing that the same Ukrainian tried to help Hunter open a bank account with a shady Maltese bank.
It’s not weird at all.
On Tuesday, a stubborn and determined Chairman of the House Oversight Committee, James Comer, vowed that his committee would not rest until the Biden “family plans” were fully uncovered.
For the sake of all of us, I hope he does so that we can all restore our faith in American justice.
