David ‘Kochie’ Koch was given an emotional farewell Friday morning as he celebrated his last day as host of Sunrise.
The veteran TV presenter, 67, was supported by his wife Libby, 66, and his four adult children and his grandchildren in the studio.
And Kochie’s “hot son,” Alexander “AJ” Kochie, was ready to support his father.
On his latest broadcast, AJ was seen holding his 18-month-old daughter Catalina as the pair leaned over to Kochie who was sitting on the couch surrounded by family.
Little Catalina beamed as her grandpa gave her a tickle on the tummy before AJ, 35, sat down next to his family.

Tears flowed Friday morning as soon as Kochie walked onto the set after hugging his colleagues who had formed a guard of honor at the studio for his final day.
‘Thanks for everything. Thank you. Oh dear. Quick, I have to [read] the news,’ Kochie said as he prepared to read the news for the last time.
“Well, when we came in you were already crying, so someone won some money,” Natalie said, laughing.

AJ then sat down on the couch with the rest of his family

Kochie also recovered earlier when his grandchildren appeared on the air to pay tribute to their ‘Poppy’.
‘He is always very nice and always gives us advice and tactics for our sports game and the eyespot assemblies. Always supportive and he taught us to have half a glass full of perspective,” they said.
Kochie stunned his colleagues on Monday, May 29, when he announced his resignation from the popular breakfast show after 21 years to spend more time with his family.
He has four children with his wife of 44 years, Libby, daughters Samantha, 42, Bree, 38, and Georgina, 32, and son Alexander.

Following the surprise announcement, the 67-year-old revealed that he is walking away from the hit show to focus on his own business.
He also wants to enjoy more flexible working hours to spend time with his growing family.
“It’s time for me to work office hours and for [wife] Libby and I to have a little more flexibility to enjoy our fast-growing family, to travel and to focus on the interests of our family businesses in Pinstripe Media and the Ausbiz corporate channel,” he told viewers.

“As everyone knows, I’m a finance nerd, so you’ll still occasionally see me show up at RBA board meetings or cover other big financial news, but as a guest rather than a host.”
Kochie struggled to hold back tears during his farewell speech.
The longest-serving TV presenter in Australian history made the shocking announcement, alongside his emotional co-host Natalie Barr.
“I’ve loved every minute of it and I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved here over the past 21 years,” Kochie told viewers.
