David Jones’ ex-boss sells spectacular New York-style Melbourne mansion with ‘clandestine basement’ for a whopping $21 million

A stunning mansion owned by David Jones’ former boss Mark McInnes and his wife Lisa Kelly has hit the market with an eye-watering guide price of between $19.5 million and $21 million.

Located in a prestigious Melbourne suburb, the sprawling home features five bedrooms, a swimming pool and a tennis court.

There is also a purpose-built ‘New York Speakeasy’ bar in the basement, with checkered oak flooring and a luxurious lounge with banquettes.

The two-storey home features a large covered entertainment terrace and a barbecue area on the ground floor.

Best known as boss of David Jones, Mcinnes, 59, resigned from his role as chief executive at the retail giant in 2011. He now works at private investment firm BBRC.

News of the sale comes after the Herald of the sun reported that McInnes bought another huge house for a staggering $36 million.
