Legendary DJ and producer David Guetta is breaking records rather than making them after selling his Miami Beach condo for $16 million.
Guetta, 56, set a new record for the highest price paid per square foot in Miami Beach history and the second highest in county history when he unloaded his condo at the Setai Hotel and Residences.
The hitmaker, who has worked with artists including the Black Eyed Peas, Pitbull, Rihanna, Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande, purchased the property from billionaire Richard LeFrak for $9.5 million in 2018.
Their condo is on the 37th floor of the Setai, a five-star hotel in Miami Beach, and has views of the city, beach and ocean.
The place is equipped with three bedrooms, each with a private bathroom, as well as motorized blinds and a wraparound balcony.

During Guetta’s years at the residence, renowned Italian architect and designer Piero Lissoni made improvements to the interior.
It also features two master suites with king-size beds and, naturally, for a music mogul, high-quality speakers throughout.
The deal was negotiated by Eloy Carmenate, Mick Duchon and Joshua Winarick of Corcoran, who brought in the undisclosed buyer.
Michael Wisenfeld, also of Corcoran, represented Guetta.
The Setai Hotel is a very popular property in Miami Beach, with 22 of its 40 floors containing condominium units, several of them two stories.
It also includes a resort-style landscaped area, gardens, a gym, three swimming pools, and valet parking and 24-hour security.
Other units at the Setai Hotel are asking prices from $2.1 million to $14.9 million, with rents ranging from $16,000 to $84,000 a month.
The news comes after it was recently revealed that Guetta has expanded his family.

The French-born record producer shared a joint Instagram post with the actress on Sunday, announcing the happy news alongside a touching family photo.
The couple, who recently enjoyed a day at the beach in Miami, also revealed their newborn’s unusual name in the caption: “Love is in the air. Welcome Cyan.” The name means “light blue and green.”
Guetta also shares two children with ex-wife Cathy Lobé, 56. They have a daughter, Angie, 16, and a son, Tim Elvis, 19.
Family, friends and followers quickly took to the comments to congratulate the couple, with David’s son confirming the baby’s gender by writing: “Little brother will be strong!” along with a red heart emoji.
Donald Trump’s daughter Ivanka commented: “How beautiful! I’m so happy for them both.”

They announced the pregnancy at the Latin GRAMMY Awards in Seville, Spain, in November, when David lovingly placed his hand on Jessica’s baby bump.

David and his ex Cathy were married in 1992 but decided to separate in 2014; Cathy had been an important business collaborator throughout the DJ’s career.
The couple separated amicably and raised their son and daughter together.
David’s accolades include two Grammy Awards, an American Music Award and a Billboard Music Award, and last year he sold his songs to Warner Music for a nine-figure sum.
The French DJ earned an estimated $100m (£72m) from the deal, which also covers his future recordings.
