David Gandy ran into trouble at British Airways after being separated from his two-year-old son on a four-hour flight.

Tweeting about last night’s ordeal, the model, 44, said: “So @British_Airways you’ve overbooked the flight.”

‘The seats assigned to us are gone and do you think it’s okay for my 2-year-old daughter to sit alone next to a stranger?’ What happens if there is an emergency?

‘BA: Well, we can’t do anything, so yeah, okay. Come on BA, you can do better than this.’

Reportedly worth £12million, the family were on holiday and staying at the £1,000-a-night Mandarin Oriental Marrakech.

Posting photos on his Instagram before his flight home, Gandy said: “From the totally private pools to the oasis of serenity of 20 hectares of olive groves and gardens, from the mountain views to the small farm for the children and only 10 minutes from the famous Medina. I can’t say enough about the @mo_marrakech resort and the amazing team that looked after my family and me.”

Replies to his tweet also suggested it had happened to other people.

“This exact thing happened to some of my private clients,” someone responded.

“They were a group of 8 people with 3 children, none of them had a seat together even though they reserved them in advance.”

Another person replied: ‘This happened to my 5 year old son and me with BA on our flight home from Alicante in August.’

David Gandy is the latest celebrity to attack the airline.

In June, James Corden, 46, confronted a British Airways employee after a nightmare flight from the Algarve to London, which was forced to stop in Lisbon.

The star was among the passengers on the turbulent journey in which the children were left “traumatized” during a bumpy descent into the Portuguese capital.

Elizabeth Hurley warned her fans to “avoid flying”, saying she was left “stranded” at Antigua airport for more than 12 hours when her British Airways flight was delayed.

In 2022, the actress lashed out at the airline when she and other passengers were left without food or water for 20 hours.

In 2019, pop band Simply Red, fronted by Mick Hucknall, shared their annoyance that their plane was apparently leaving without them despite having their luggage.

Daily Mail has contacted representatives for British Airways and David Gandy for comment.
