Dave Portnoy addressed the fact that Caitlin Clark played “like an idiot” in the Indiana Fever’s 86-75 loss to the Las Vegas Aces on Wednesday night.
The allegation comes after the Barstool Sports boss placed a $100,000 bet that the Fever would win the WNBA title in August. The wager could earn Portnoy $10.1 million if the rookie sensation leads her team to a title.
As Clark struggled on the ground against the defending champions, Portnoy took to Twitter to express his frustration on behalf of the Fever star.
“Get this game out of the system,” Portnoy said. wrote in X. ‘Flush it down the toilet. They were meant to be a mess. Caitlin played it off like an idiot.
“It’s amazing that they’ve been with her when she’s so cold. The only thing that matters right now is getting her rest and being ready for the playoffs.”

The rookie shot a dismal 6 of 22 from the field and 1 of 10 from three-point range in the 86-75 loss.
Portnoy also posted a video of Clark getting fouled offensively and wrote, ‘Caitlin Clark is having a rare off night but in what world is this an offensive foul?’
She also called for Lexie Hull to be removed from the game due to foul trouble and pointed to “strange rotations” by Fever coach Christie Sides.
Clark finished the game with 16 points and six assists, below her averages of 19.2 and 8.5 in those statistics, respectively. The rookie also shot a dismal 6 of 22 from the field and 1 of 10 from 3-point range.
In a tweet showing his ambitious bet On the title rush, Portnoy said Clark is one of the “top three players in the league.”
