Action movie star Dave Bautista has shocked fans with his drastic weight loss, having shed 75 pounds in just over two years.
The former WWE star began training after finishing filming Knock at the Cabin, which is set to be released in 2023. At the time, he weighed 315 pounds, a heavier amount than when he was wrestling professionally.
It took a lot of work to lose the extra pounds she gained with the help of chips and pancakes.
To do this, she reduced her calorie intake to 2,500, about 1,000 calories fewer than the Mayo Clinic recommends for a person of her age and size to lose weight.
He fasted until at least 1 p.m. and then ate mostly vegetarian food, with eggs and fish added for protein, and ate his last meal at least three hours before bedtime.

The 55-year-old former wrestler spoke to TikTok personality Chris Van Vliet about his weight loss journey: ‘I started losing weight because I had just gained weight.
‘I got really big for a role and I was too big… Knock at the Cabin… I got really big. I weighed about 300 pounds and I gained weight really fast.’
Drastically increasing the amount of weight (before Knock at the Cabin, I was hovering between 275 and 300 pounds) carries some worrying health risks.
While it’s unclear how she trained or what kind of workout regimen she followed during this period of weight gain, she told her fans that she ate a lot of foods high in sugar and fat.
This often leads to an accumulation of body fat, which can endanger health even if the body mass index (BMI) is within a normal range.
It also puts more stress on the heart, increases blood pressure and raises cholesterol levels.
Rapid weight gain can also alter the way your body responds to insulin in your body, increasing your chances of developing type 2 diabetes.
Bautista said he gained an “uncomfortable” amount of weight before filming Knock at the Cabin: “I was probably a little bit too big, but at the time, I was thinking, I have to grow.”
He added: “It took me forever to get rid of it.”
Bautista weighed around 315 pounds while filming the 2022 thriller. He is pictured here in May 2022.
She gained an “uncomfortable” amount of weight for the film. Before filming, she weighed between 125 and 130 kilos.
For about two years since filming wrapped on Knock at the Cabin, Bautista has been eating 2,500 calories a day, mostly vegetarian, with eggs and fish added for protein.
The total allowance was an excessively low amount considering the $3,100 to $3,700 recommended for a person of his height (1.93 m) and a starting weight of 315.
The Glass Onion star credits his weight loss to Brazilian jiu-jitsu, and even brought a trainer to Budapest to work with him while filming Dune 2.
She told Kelly Ripa on Live with Kelly and Mark earlier this summer: ‘It’s my way of losing weight.
Bautista and trainer Jason Manly “did nothing but fight, like for hours. So I started losing weight and thought I would keep going like that to get my brown belt,” which he earned in 2023.
The more weight she lost, the better she felt. Her new diet even helped her overcome allergies and asthma.
She also follows an intermittent fasting plan, stopping eating until around 1 p.m., allowing herself to eat for a few hours, and stopping about three hours before bedtime.
He said: “I’ve been losing weight and I’ve lost a lot of muscle, but I’m fine with that because I feel more comfortable.”
Bautista has faced accusations of using performance-enhancing drugs to achieve his massive figure. While he has admitted to using anabolic steroids to recover from muscle injuries, there is no concrete evidence to support those claims that he abused steroids.
Bautista is known for playing intimidating, hulking characters, including Drax the Destroyer in Guardians of the Galaxy. Fans say he is now unrecognizable.
But fans have been shocked by his weight loss, even speculating that the actor is dealing with an eating disorder because “people have seen me so much bigger over the years, they think I’m anorexic.”
She told Chris Van Vliet: “It’s weird because people think, like in my case, people say, ‘Gosh, you’re skinny.’ I even saw on the Internet that some people are worried about my health.”
The journey has not been easy.
Bautista said: “I’m basically killing myself to get in this shape. I mean I’m training hard, not just training hard, but my calories are pretty restricted, about 2,500 a day.”
She added: “For me, it’s nothing. I just don’t eat much. I’m not starving or anything.”
Still, she plans to lose a few more pounds, adding that her weight is now the lowest it has been since she was 19.
