The wrestler-turned-actor joined co-star Sofia Boutella at Regal LA Live after wowing fans with his remarkable body transformation at the Toronto Film Festival over the weekend.

Bautista, 55, has lost more than 40 pounds over a two-year period that began shortly after she wrapped work on M. Night Shyamalan’s thriller Knock On The Cabin in 2022.

Promoting his latest film, in which he plays a veteran assassin, the American star looked noticeably slimmer in a patterned maroon suit as he posed for photographs alongside Boutella, 42.

Alongside her co-star, the Algerian actress adopted a similar colour scheme by opting for a fitted velvet evening gown in a deep purple hue.

Bautista recently admitted He is now lighter than during his early wrestling days on SmackDown!, when he competed under the name Deacon Batista.

“I’m getting super fit, this is probably the lightest hair I’ve had since I was 19,” she told YouTuber Chris Van Vliet.

“The heaviest I’ve ever weighed in my life was 370 pounds (26st). When I started at Deacon, I was around 325 pounds (23st),” he said.

‘For most of my wrestling career I weighed around 290 pounds (11.5 kg). Now I weigh around 240 pounds (11.5 kg).

“A year and a half ago I went to Knock at the Cabin and weighed 142kg. And that’s when the nightmare began.”

Bautista previously shared a striking snap from when she was 16 and didn’t have any of the tattoos that now cover her body.

At age 30, he embarked on a successful career in professional wrestling and MMA, before becoming a movie star at age 45 in Guardians of the Galaxy.

Throughout his adult life, his arms and torso became gradually covered in tattoos, including the Greek and Philippine flags in honor of his heritage.

The photograph was taken near the end of a difficult childhood marked by poverty and crime, during which he himself was arrested in his early teens.

The actor confessed: ‘When I was 13, I started getting into a lot more trouble for skipping school.

‘I was also arrested for minor things. I was jailed or sent to juvenile detention, but the punishment was not severe; I never spent more than a day in jail.’

Bautista insisted that “I wasn’t stealing or breaking the law to get back at anybody or because I was angry or anything like that. I was stealing because all my friends were doing it. It wasn’t a big deal. It just wasn’t out of the ordinary. It was just what you did.”

He added: “It’s not like I stole cars or did drugs or anything really bad. But I was definitely a thug and everyone was afraid of my fate.”
