Dave Bautista headlines M. Night Shyamalan film Knock At The Cabin: ‘Another dream come true’


Dave Bautista teams up with director M. Night Shyamalan on the upcoming movie Knock at the Cabin.

‘Another dream come true with @MNightShyamalan!’ Bautista, 52, tweeted in response to a Deadline report of the casting Monday.

Shyamalan, 51, is set to write, produce and direct the upcoming film, the outlet reported. The film is expected to hit theaters on February 3, 2023.

The WWE alumnus’ Hollywood breakout played the role of Drax in the Guardians of the Galaxy series, which he reprises in films such as Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame and the upcoming Thor: Love and Thunder.

The Washington, DC native has landed a number of high-profile roles in 2021, headlining Zack Snyder’s Army of the Dead on Netflix, as Beast Rabban Harkonnen in the Denis Villeneuve film Dune and opposite Jason Momoa in the Apple TV+ series See.

Bautista is currently working on projects including Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Knives Out 2 and an as-yet-untitled action comedy for MGM alongside Momoa.

Bautista chatting with . last month Men’s health about his passion for the craft, saying he “really fell in love with acting” and “didn’t want to be the guy who came out of wrestling, took these easy action roles and just pumped up a little and smeared baby oil on my arms.”

In the interview, he looked back on the early days of his wrestling career and said, “I couldn’t feel comfortable, people didn’t like me, I was doing something wrong, the company wouldn’t do anything to me. , they didn’t know what to do with me, they didn’t know where I belonged.’

He added: ‘It was just a very toxic atmosphere. Wrestling is very competitive. It’s very killer. You’re put in a position where you have to sit up all the time, and it’s exhausting. It’s just tiring.’

The action star explained how to reinvent herself from wrestling stars to mainstream Hollywood.

“I’m not trying to separate myself from professional wrestling because I’m ashamed or anything like that,” he told the publication. “It’s just, I had to make a name for myself and start from scratch and make people see me in a different light.

“Because if people always see me as a professional wrestler turned actor, they’re going to pigeonhole me for roles.”
