Darragh Ennis of The Chase has revealed that he has been bombarded with more than 40 marriage proposals since taking part in the hit ITV quiz.
The Irish quizzer, 40, who is happily married and politely declined all offers to win him over, has shared how he has been inundated with marriage proposals since becoming the first new Chaser since Jenny Ryan joined the show in 2015.
Darragh ‘The Menace’ Ennis joined the five well-known formidable quiz pros after taking part in the show as a contestant in 2017, opposite Paul ‘The Sinnerman’ Sinha – and is already making quite an impression.
“I’ve had a lot of marriage proposals since I started The Chase,” he told me The daily star. “I must have had about 40 people asking if I was married or would marry them and if I would meet them.”

He added, “I think it’s more funny than flattering.”
Darragh – who will hit our screens again tonight for the new series Beat The Chasers – has even been branded as ‘Mr Smooth’ and ‘Mr Suave’ by TV presenter Bradley Walsh.
But while the hunter joked that he would ‘jump’ the chance to play James Bond, he added that he thinks he would be ‘terrible at it’.
Darragh, a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Oxford, appeared in The Chase in March 2017 as a contestant.

Familiar face: The Chase recruited their latest quizzer to the series in the form of popular former contestant Darragh Ennis
He made an impressive £ 9,000 on the episode, but his teammates took the lower bids, bringing the fund down to £ 2,700.
Afterwards, Paul Sinha, aka the Sinnerman, called Darragh ‘the best player’ he has ever encountered.
Fans of the show thought Darragh deserved more and the hashtag #JusticeForDarragh trending on Twitter, with some fans even starting a Go Fund Me to raise money.
The Chase sees contestants play against a professional quizzer, known as a Chaser, who tries to avoid winning a cash prize.
A team of four participants tries to collect as much money as possible which is then added to a prize fund if the participant survives their chase.
The Chasers have the task of trying to catch the participants during their individual rounds to avoid adding the money to the prize fund.
The other Chasers in the series are Mark Labbett, Shaun Wallace, Anne Hegerty, Paul Sinha and Jenny Ryan.
