Police arrested a 35-year-old woman in Loftus Street, Nambucca Heads yesterday at around 2:10 p.m.

A woman has been charged after a man’s body was found at the entrance to a rural property.

Emergency services were called to a property in Darkwood, about 67 kilometres west of Coffs Harbour, at around 7pm on Thursday following reports that a body had been found.

Officers from Coffs/Clarence Police District attended and found the body of a 62-year-old man in a surfboard bag at the entrance to the property.

A crime scene was established and officers assigned to the Coffs/Clarence Police District, with the assistance of officers from the State Crime Command Homicide Squad, established Strike Force Nome to investigate the death.

Police arrested a 35-year-old woman in Loftus Street, Nambucca Heads yesterday at around 2:10 p.m.

She was taken to the Macksville Police Station where she was charged with murder (domestic violence).

Police will argue in court that the woman and the man knew each other.

He was refused bail overnight to appear in Port Macquarie Local Court on Saturday.
