A woman accused of murdering a man before his body was found inside a surfboard bag is believed to have been in a relationship with him and was paying his rent.
Lisa Marie Cummings, 35, was arrested after Mark Myers, 62, was found dead at a home in Darkwood in Coffs Harbour on the New South Wales mid-north coast at 7pm on Thursday.
Her body was discovered stuffed inside a surfboard bag that had been dumped at the entrance to the property.
Cummings was handcuffed at a property on Loftus Street in Nambucca Heads, 70 kilometres away, on Friday and charged with murder (domestic violence) and refused bail.
New South Wales Police sources said: The Telegraph newspaper that Cummings had been paying rent to Mr. Myers and that she was in a relationship with him.
Mr Myers is believed to have died elsewhere before his body was found in the driveway.
Police set up a crime scene where the body was found, but the property was vacated days later and no officers were seen at the home on Saturday.
Neighbours were shocked by Mr Myers’ sudden death, describing him as a quiet and decent man.

Detective Inspector Vince Nicholls said his family were distraught and had been in contact with officers.
Inspector Nicholls urged anyone with information to come forward to police.
Cummings appeared in Port Macquarie Local Court on Saturday where he did not apply for bail, which was formally refused.
He is expected back in court on Monday.
