Daredevil: Born Again and The Penguin have been suspended for the duration of the Writers Guild strike

Date:

Production of Disney+’s Daredevil: Born Again and Max’s The Penguin has been suspended indefinitely amid the ongoing writers’ strike.

IGN has confirmed with sources close to the production that both series will stop filming until the strike ends, as both have previously been suspended multiple times due to the strike. The news of the suspension was first revealed through Deadline.

Daredevil: Born Again is set to premiere on Disney+ sometime next year. According to reports, the first season will consist of 18 episodes, which is a huge number compared to other Marvel Cinematic Universe series, which usually consist of less than 10 episodes per season. Charlie Cox will return as Daredevil with Vincent D’Onofrio returning as King Bean, who confirmed that a second season is already planned.

Produced by Max Network, Penguin is based on the 2022 DC film The Batman and takes place a week after the events of the film. The series, which will see the return of Colin Farrell as his character, is set to premiere sometime next year and will consist of eight episodes.
