Darcy Moore had a run-in with a magpie during Channel 7 filming this week, although skeptical fans have cast doubt on a video of the Collingwood captain on social media.
Pies hero Moore, 28, was filming behind-the-scenes content for the broadcaster when the most unlikely situation occurred.
“Today we’re here on set with Channel 7 and the guys are still preparing, so I’m going to use the time to show everyone my goal kicks,” he said. “As an access key, it is very useful.”
At this point, Moore runs and kicks the ball before what appeared to be a magpie swoops down from above and steals the cap from his head.
Unsure of what had just happened, a bewildered Moore says, “What was that?” Was she a magpie? No way).’

But fans were not convinced by the authenticity of the video on social media.
As Moore reacted, his kick soared toward the bottom and hit a nearby searchlight, which then slowly fell toward the parking lot.

‘It was me? How did I do that?’
The Pies boss then goes to the parking lot to check the damage, with the windshield of his white Toyota badly shattered.
Astonished, he is left speechless while the cameraman laughs.
But fans have doubts about the veracity of the incident, and many took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to mock Moore’s acting skills.
“We should take acting classes from the Carlton forward line,” said one fan.
“The only real thing in this video is his ability to park,” said another.
A third fan joked: “The best performance was the bird.”
“They’re real guys,” said a fourth fan. “I can confirm that I was the car.”
