The health of an elderly Sydney icon is still in bad shape weeks after his head was thrown to the ground in an arrest that sparked widespread outrage.

Danny Lim’s lawyer shared a health update nearly two weeks after the arrest, in which the popular personality was hospitalized with a brain hemorrhage.

“Danny Lim needs two walking sticks to get around,” Chris Murphy shared on Twitter.

“He needs specialist medical attention which will continue in two areas of damaged health.”

The 79-year-old was left unable to speak after the arrest, with Mr Murphy saying he was still ‘very damaged’ after being released from hospital on November 24.

“Bleeding in the brain can be seen in the first scan and doctors are watching how that unfolds from one day to the next,” he said of Mr Lim on Twitter following his injuries.

Footage of the arrest went viral online with many viewers condemning the actions of NSW police while Mr Lim was taken into custody.

The footage shows Mr. Lim banging his head on the ground before the two officers handcuff him.

Mr Lim was wearing one of his signature placards that read ‘SMILE CVNT! WHY CVNT?’ on the one hand.

He is known for carrying the sandwich signs around Sydney, some of which include the term ‘CVNT’ as a substitute word for ‘c***’.

NSW Police are conducting an internal investigation into the incident, with the police watchdog monitoring the arrest.

“The Commission will continue to closely monitor the progress of the police investigation into police contact with Mr. Lim,” a law enforcement commission said in a statement.

This includes the violence used by NSW police officers as part of Mr Lim’s arrest.

“If the Commission is concerned about the conduct of the investigation by the NSW Police, the Commission has the authority to intervene and take over that investigation itself.”

Dozens of protesters angry at Mr Lim’s treatment gathered outside Surry Hills Police Station to support the well-known Sydneysider after the incident.

Some waved signs that read, “Stop Police Violence” and “Justice for Danny Lim.”

Mr Murphy’s update on Mr Lim’s health also claimed he was a ‘victim of NSW police’.

“Excellent witnesses have come forward and quashed any suggestion that Danny Lim did anything wrong,” he claimed.
