When police detained him a short time later, Wiseman claimed he acted in self-defense, saying, “I didn’t punch him and he started first.”

The court heard that Wiseman and Lim had had previous confrontations at Burwood and Town Hall train stations.

Wiseman was found guilty and fined $600 and Magistrate Swain also made an 18-month AVO for the protection of Mr Lim.

In court on Monday, Wiseman described Lim as a “disgrace” and said he had been offended by some of his signs that included the word “CVN’T.”

Following the incident, Wiseman uploaded a video to YouTube titled “I have a duty to stop him.”

‘He’s a liar. He’s actually a fake,” Wiseman said during the 22-minute video.

“It’s a shame to our Chinese community, so I have to expose it whenever I can.”
