Danny DeVito has confirmed exciting reunion plans for a Matilda reunion alongside lead actress Mara Wilson.
The actor, 78, who played Harry Wormwood, and the actress, 36, who played Matilda, plan to collaborate ‘soon’ on a concert version of the 1996 film.
If the proposal goes through, the pair will narrate the film through a live score by composer David Newman.
According to The Messenger, Danny said, “Mara and I were planning to perform Matilda live with the New Jersey Philharmonic Orchestra just before the strike hit.
‘We had everything ready, but after the strike we couldn’t continue because it would be seen as promotion for a film.

‘But we still plan to do that. We are going to watch the film with David Newman’s music and will try to do that soon as it looks like the strike is coming to an end I hope!’
It comes after Danny opened up about his iconic career and admitted he was never upset he never became a traditional ‘leading man’ in Hollywood.
The actor made his feature film debut in 1975’s Best Picture winner One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, and while he has had a long and successful career spanning nearly five decades, he hasn’t had that many leading roles in that time.
The actor promoted his role in Disney’s The Haunted Mansion — which debuted in third place at the box office this weekend — in an interview with Parade, revealing that he’s completely happy where he is.
DeVito was neighbors with Brad Pitt when he married Jennifer Aniston, and was asked if he was “glad” he never became a big movie star like Pitt.
“I don’t celebrate not being Clark Gable. I celebrate being who I am,” DeVito said.
He was also asked if he ever aspired to be a “full-time leading man” like Pitt, adding that Brad is one of his favorites.
“I’m a big fan of Brad and Humphrey Bogart and (Jack) Nicholson and Leonardo. The painter, not the actor. Just kidding!’ DeVito joked.

“You know, we all have a place. I kind of imagined my spot would be closer to Peter Lorre or Edward G. Robinson or even WC Fields,” DeVito admitted.
When asked what it was like living next to Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston, the actor had nothing but good things to say about them.
“They had a beautiful private home and they were great neighbors. And they had a giant hedge and a gate,” DeVito began.
“Brad, God bless him, was very protective of his family. I would go to work or come out of the driveway, and I would see one of the tour buses,” he continued.
‘People stood in front of this hedge to have their picture taken. All you could see was the hedge! But it’s Brad and Jennifer’s hedge, and there’s something meaningful about that. Maybe they took a leaf and put it in a book as a souvenir,” he joked.
He was also asked if it was a “thrill” to be starring in a major, big-budget studio film like Disney’s The Haunted Mansion at this stage of his career.
