Danny Cipriani claimed he never really knew his ex-wife Victoria after she “cheated” on him and built their four-year relationship on lies.
The former rugby player, 36, has also denied Victoria’s claims that he had been unfaithful during their marriage, after she said in a recent interview that he was messaging other women and spending £600 a month on drugs.
Danny said Victoria manipulated him from their first meeting and told him outlandish stories about herself, including claiming she had been targeted by MI5 and had a multi-million pound inheritance.
He said The sun“When I look back now, I realize how much he fooled me. But I really wanted to believe him.
“I feel like I don’t know who she is. I guess I never knew because I have no idea what the truth is.”

Danny went on to say that his loved ones began to “worry about him” after they started questioning things Victoria had revealed about his past.
He also recalled how Victoria’s pregnancy “really changed him,” but it was at that point that he didn’t see the “red flags” in their relationship.
They tragically lost their son in June 2020who they named River, at 23 weeks.
Danny said: “I wanted to help Victoria and I thought I loved her. But at the end of the relationship, I felt like she was manipulating me.”
Victoria, who has two children and is also a grandmother, said they then went through gruelling rounds of IVF to try and have a child.
She previously admitted to shouting “he’s my husband” when Danny became close to an unknown woman at a self-help event.
But Danny said he was actually sitting with a “long-time friend” who was a “spiritual lady” and that nothing strange was going on, claiming Victoria simply lost her temper as a result of being drunk.

Victoria had claimed the former rugby player spent £600 a month on drugs, messaged other women and admitted she felt “humiliated” when he moved on with American actress AnnaLynne McCord.
Danny had previously admitted to using cocaine, a crystallized toad psychedelic, and taking so many magic mushrooms that he became convinced his Victoria was trying to kill him.
Victoria said Danny was eating mushroom chocolate bars and she didn’t know if he was taking them or not because “it worked so well.”
Victoria admitted their marriage became increasingly strained when he stopped playing for Bath, claiming she noticed messages from other women on his phone.
She admitted that she feels like she was cheated on after ignoring his former Lothario past.
Months later, Danny confirmed his relationship with AnnaLynne, 36, and the pair documented their whirlwind relationship on Instagram, leaving Victoria feeling “humiliated”.
At the time of the split, Danny released a statement announcing the news, telling his Instagram followers that he “wished nothing but the best” for his ex.
Victoria later announced that she surprisingly “found out about the situation at the same time as the public” in a now-deleted post.
The media personality spoke about the difficult time she went through and apologized for her “emotionally charged response.”
Danny said: “I wanted to help Victoria and I thought I loved her. But at the end of the relationship, I felt like she was manipulating me.”

‘The truth is, I’m still going through a difficult time and it’s challenging for me to watch Danny speak publicly about our separation while I still haven’t found the strength to process it, adjust or heal.
Victoria concluded: “I really don’t want to be fooled by the fanfare. I’m sorry for any hurt I’ve caused.”
