“Okay, there it goes… HONEST POST Okay, so it’s not a secret since I left rehab. I’ve slipped and slipped more than I’ve been honest I guess,” she wrote.

“But today I joined a new gym, restarted my herbal life, and am going back to the rooms tonight.

“I’m done with the occasional drink and a night out I’m completely over it.

“I know that the best years of my entire adult life were the 14 years I spent clean and sober. So today is the day I go back, my s**t pick up the newcomer ring with pride, not shame.

“I’m tired of being sick and tired and feeling ashamed and being a scammer when people tell me I’m fine. I did better this time, but I’m done, I’m so bored.

“So today I say. Hi, I’m Danniella and I’m a recovering drug addict.’

Danniella went on to say she hopes to help others manage their addiction to alcohol and drugs.

She added: “I haven’t hit rock bottom this time, I’m just in the whole vicious circle that is a crippling disease that keeps me from being the best I can be and reaching my full potential.

“I’m lucky this time I’m not crawling into the rooms with a sniffling, skinny bag… I was meant for more than this and for the last few years f*****g about has shown me that cocaine and champagne don’t have the high I want.’

Danniella said she will keep her “head up” as she begins her new sober chapter and seeks her “natural high of life.”

And for anyone struggling, wake up and change your life before it takes yours. We’re all worth it, lots of love to you. ‘Westie xxxx’.

The actress’s battle with drugs has been widely publicized, and she had her nose reconstructed after her septum collapsed in 2002 from excessive cocaine use.

At the height of her use, she was reported to be taking up to five grams of cocaine a day, amounting to nearly £250,000 worth of the drug.

The star has since embarked on multiple bouts of rehab to battle her demons – revealing she was finally clean last June, after attending a clinic in Mijas, Spain.

Danniella first appeared in EastEnders in 1990 at the age of 16 and starred in the soap for three years.

She returned in 1996, but her time was cut when her off-screen behavior resulted in her being fired.

She returned shortly after, but was fired again in 2000 after further disruptive behaviour, admitting she blew £100k worth of cocaine at the time.

The role was recast between 2002 and 2005 and played by Kim Medcalf, but Danniella returned to the role in 2009 to 2010.

She was back again in 2016 for the onscreen mother Peggy Mitchell’s storyline, which is her last appearance to date.
