Spezia winger Daniele Verde may well have scored the goal of the Serie A season with a stunning bicycle kick against Lazio.

Lazio had taken the lead after 56 minutes against the Serie A minnows via Manuel Lazzari.

But with 17 minutes to go, Ghanaian international Emmanuel Gyasi won the ball on the left flank before hitting a cross into Verde’s path.

What followed was a magical moment when Verde, with his back to the goal, showed fantastic agility to jump on and made perfect contact with a bicycle kick.

Verde ran to the Spezia staff on the sidelines before celebrating by blowing a kiss on the camera.

Unfortunately for Verde and Spezia, his goal did not get the result it deserved as former Manchester City player Felipe Caicedo scored late from the spot to give Lazio the victory.

Lazio would go on with two players sent off in injury time, with both Lazzari and Joaquin Correa getting their marching orders.

However, the two red cards were too late for Spezia to score a second tying run.

Spezia is six points clear of the relegation zone in Serie A in 16th place with nine games to go.
