England came close to being eliminated by Slovakia with the score seemingly tied 1-0 in Germany, before Bellingham scored a sensational acrobatic kick with a minute left in added time.
This sparked wild celebrations among England fans around the world, including Sturridge in Germany, where he is covering the tournament for American soccer fans.
When Bellingham’s shot hit the back of the net, former England striker Sturridge jumped from his seat and shouted: “Let’s go!” Get in there! Come on!’.

Tom Brady was also overcome with emotion after England’s incredible comeback.
Sturridge was sitting between Peter Schmeichel and Alexi Lalas in the FOX studio and had until then endured another miserable performance from England in the tournament.
But Bellingham’s goal sparked an incredible England comeback and sent the game into extra time.
Star striker Harry Kane then put England 2-1 ahead.
“I’m delighted. They’ve found themselves in this position, an incredible opportunity to get into the quarter-finals,” said Sturridge in a more composed moment during extra time.
When the game was won, he added: “That goal is up there, very high up. There are 30 seconds left and I think they are going home. The faith, the patience of the team is incredible.”
Tom Brady, co-owner of Birmingham City, the club where Bellingham began his footballing career, was also cheering on England.
‘Jude,’ Brady simply tweeted with a succession of ‘mind-blowing’ emojis.
Then, when Kane added another, Brady tweeted again and said: ‘Harry!!! What a game!!!’
