Dani Ceballos has claimed that his training ground with Arsenal teammate David Luiz shows that there is still ‘character’ in the team.
The pair had to be separated by manager Mikel Arteta after a challenge from Ceballos in a friendly match during the final international break led to a shock that left the midfielder with a scratch on the nose.
Now talking The sun, the Spain international did not deny that the scrap took place, but claimed it demonstrated the leadership qualities both he and Brazilian defender Luiz possess.

“I’m not going to say there was no clash or scuffle,” said Ceballos, 24.
It wasn’t exemplary behavior, but it’s good to see Arsenal alive – that the team has character.
‘We are two footballers with very similar leadership qualities and these things can happen.
‘We haven’t let a day pass. We spoke that same afternoon after training.
Gunners boss Mikel Arteta was forced to divorce the couple and then ended training
But the loaned Real Madrid midfielder insists the duo will both learn from the experience
“Now we have to learn so it doesn’t happen again.”
Sources claim that Luiz, along with other senior players, repeatedly contradicted Ceballos for his rough treatment of some of the younger players.
Luiz then hit out at the Spaniard, and as he rose to face the defender, players and Arsenal staff moved quickly to de-escalate the situation.
Arteta immediately ended the session and the stars of the Gunners apologized to each other.
But the Arsenal boss, when asked to comment on the scrap last week, played his cards close to his chest and sent his inner Arsene Wenger, who was infamous for claiming he hadn’t seen certain incidents.
Luiz reportedly had a problem with Ceballos because of his rough treatment of some of the younger stars
‘[It was] nothing [other] then training is competitive and problems are common and those things are immediately resolved within the team and there is not much to say ‘, Arteta said last week before his squad’s 0-0 draw in Leeds.
‘I have very poor vision from afar. That is why we train behind closed doors. There is no problem between the two. I have very poor vision from afar. ‘
However, Arteta was left furious by the bust-up leak and warned to take action if he discovered the culprit.
It is not the first time that Ceballos has collided with a teammate this season. He had an altercation with Eddie Nketiah on the opening day of the Fulham campaign.
