Danger! Fans are setting the record straight about the iconic Detroit-style hot dogs after a contestant was asked an “inaccurate” question that left viewers “yelling at the TV.”
After tuning in to Wednesday’s episode of the game show, fans were left furious at the way the hot dogs were described.
During the episode, five-time winner Adriana Harmeyer competed against Christina Paul and Travis Kissire.
And when it came time to ask the question about the city’s lingo, fans were on the edge of their seats when the contestants were asked what they’ll get if they order a ‘Coney Island’ at one of Detroit’s restaurants.
Adriana received the points when she answered “a chili dog”, however viewers took to Reddit to express their anger afterwards, claiming that her answer was actually incorrect.
Danger! Fans are setting the record straight about the iconic Detroit-style hot dogs after a contestant responded to an “inaccurate” question that left viewers “yelling at the TV.”
After tuning in to Wednesday’s episode of the game show, fans were left furious at the way the hot dogs were described.
The $1,200 ‘City-Slang’ card read: ‘Order a Coney Island at Detroit’s best restaurants and you’ll get this.’
Adriana responded first: ‘What is a hot dog?’
However, host Ken Jennings quickly jumped in and said, “Can you be more specific?”
The winner said: ‘A chili dog?’
Ken, who recently celebrated his 50th birthday on the game show, noted that his second answer was correct.
However, fans weren’t convinced by the description of his hot dog and made sure to let the world know that the response left them fuming.
In a Reddit thread titled, Danger!Viewers complained about the inaccuracy of the answer.
One person said: ‘A Detroit Coney has no chili in it! It is a specific meat sauce that is not chili.

“I used to make it at a restaurant in Michigan, I also made chili and they are very different.”
Someone else said: ‘Surely a Coney dog is different than a chili dog.’ Last night we were yelling at the television. These monsters probably think Chili and Sloppy Joes are the same thing.
Another user added: ‘As a native of the metro Detroit area, I agree too. You can buy it at Meijer and Walmart and it is NOT chili. It’s beef heart sauce with ground beef.
One person wrote: “As someone who comes from Fort Wayne, Indiana, with our historic Coney Island, I agree.”
And this isn’t the first time Jeopardy! Fans were left infuriated by the response.
Viewers also mercilessly mocked the three contestants when Ken tested their knowledge during the 21st century sports category and they failed to answer an “easy” question about the World Series.
It all started when Ken asked for $400: ‘In 2007, this National League team became the first 10,000-loss team; In 2008 they won the world series behind Cole Hamels and Ryan Howard.
Christina then incorrectly interjected and asked, ‘Who are the Chicago Cubs?’
The correct answer was the Philadelphia Phillies, who beat the Tampa Bay Rays on October 29, 2008.
The Phillies’ victory, under manager Charlie Manuel, was the team’s first World Series victory since the 1980 World Series, and the city’s first major sports championship in 25 years.
To date, this is the most recent season the Phillies have won in the competition.
In a Reddit thread titled Jeopardy!, viewers complained about the inaccuracy of the answer.
Just one day earlier, fans mercilessly mocked Christina Paul (pictured) when she incorrectly answered the question: “In 2007, this National League team became the first 10,000-loss team.”
And that wasn’t the only sports-related question that stumped the contestants.
Later in the game, Ken asked, “A little like Sci-Fi’s Anywhere Door or Phoenix Gate, it opened on October 15, 2018 to bring college athletes to a new school.”
The answer? Transfer portal. But the three players had no idea.
They also gave the wrong answer to the question: “With Oklahoma City, this master of the triple-double became the first consecutive NBA All-Star Game MVP since the 1950s.”
Viewers continued to express their frustration at the players’ lack of knowledge, with one even going so far as to jokingly declare them “permanently banned from Philadelphia.”
‘There’s nothing better than when the incredibly smart people at Jeopardy! “I don’t know something all of us lazy dirty jocks know,” one viewer wrote on X.
Phillies sports blog Cross Broad wrote: ‘No respect for the 2008 World Series champion on Jeopardy! tonight.’
A third added: “They are permanently banned from Philly,” while a fourth said: “Devastated no one knew about the @Phillies on @Jeopardy.”
Another pleaded: ‘We need more sports fans on Jeopardy!’
