ABC’s Dancing With the Stars introduced a new guest judge for Hair Metal Night, rock legend Gene Simmons… although it upset many fans.
The KISS frontman and bassist, 75, joined judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Derek Hough and Bruno Tonioli for Tuesday’s episode, which featured dances to ’80s hair metal hits like Cherry Pie, Rock You Like a Hurricane and more.
However, Simmons’ sexually suggestive comments were not overly appreciated by fans, with many claiming that he was the worst guest judge in the show’s 33 seasons.
Even host Alfonso Ribeiro seemed to disagree with Simmons and responded with a rather sarcastic comment.
The episode also featured the double elimination of two fan favorites: Reginald VelJohnson and Eric Roberts.

Most of the time, when Simmons commented on a routine, he was referring to the dancer’s appearance, which many viewers called “creepy.”
He told Danny Amendola and Witney Carson that he couldn’t figure out which one was “hot, hot, hot.”
He called Reginald VelJohnson’s partner Emma Slater “a beautiful woman” and said that Chandler Stevens “fogged up my glasses” and that she “moved me, not just with your gyrations and stuff, but with your beautiful face.”
Many took to social media Tuesday to express their frustration, like @gray_dwts, who said, “from sweet Ilona messing up, to being tortured more during elimination, to Chandler being singled out and practically watching the same 500 million dance sometimes even that creepy ass.” The ass judge’s gene tonight was a CHOP.
@bambiisugars added: ‘gene Simmons was the worst guest judge on Dancing with the Stars…’Definitely made for some entertaining television, I guess.’
Another X user, @sambothehambo01, insisted: “ABC needs to apologize after having Gene Simmons on there and subjecting their cast to that.” Why didn’t a producer tell him to stop doing it?
@MCMiddleton addressed Ribeiro’s comment towards the end of the show, which he made after Phaedra Parks and Val Chmerkovskiy’s routine.
Simmons said, “I’m a big bad boy and bad girl fan,” and when Phaedra reacted, Gene said, “Calm down.” It’s a family show. Settle.
