Dancing On Ice’s Roxy Shahidi and Lou Sanders were the latest stars to leave the series on Sunday night after a shocking double elimination.

For the first time in the skating show, the worst placed couple was directly out of the competition, while two others faced skating.

After finding themselves in the bottom three, Emmerdale’s Roxy Shahidi and her dance partner Sylvain Longchambon were the couple who received the lowest scores and were automatically eliminated from the show.

Upon hearing the news that she was leaving, presenter Holly Willougby said: “It’s such a brutal way to go out like that.” I’m devastated for you.

Speaking after being sent off, Roxy, who previously sprained her shoulder during training, said she was disappointed not to get the chance to perform in the skating competition.

She said: “I’m so proud of what I’ve done and what I’ve learned. The whole experience has been incredible.”

With a score of 24.5 from the judges, Jayne Torville said: “The scores are a little low because you did an assisted jump for the judges’ challenge.”

She added that she would have liked to see more skating, while Christopher Dean agreed and said he wanted her to be a little more independent.

Judge Oti Mabuse said she was sad because she felt the performance was “a little short”.

Comedian Lou Samders and her partner Colin Grafton ended up skating with Ricky Norwood and Annette Dytrt.

Unfortunately for them, the judges chose Ricky as their winner that night, leading to Lou’s time on the show coming to an end.

After his elimination, Lou joked: “It’s about never giving up, so we’ll be back next week.”

She continued: ‘I’ve had the best time of my life, thank you. He (Colin) said his confidence has increased since he worked with me.’

Colin added: “We’ve had a great time and I don’t think I’ve ever laughed so much.”

Also taking place was the return of the judges’ challenge where celebrities must perform either a two-foot freestyle jump off the ice or a solo spin on one foot for a minimum of two revolutions.

Speaking about the challenge, head judge Christopher said it had to be “practically perfect if (the contestants) wanted to receive a spectacular score”.

Lou Sanders kicked off the musicals week show, as he hit the floor with his professional partner Brendyn Hatfield for a Six-inspired routine.

The comedian, who finished in the skate off last Saturday, earned her highest score of the series with 26.5 out of a possible 40, as three of the judges awarded her 6.5 points and Christopher 7.

Impressed Jane said: ‘I loved the ending of the Bolero and the jump was good. In general I think everything is better.’

While Oti added: ‘I enjoyed watching you.’
