Iconic Australian comedian Barry Humphries, 89, has been rushed to hospital after serious health problems
Iconic Australian comedian Barry Humphries, 89, has been rushed to hospital just days after being discharged.
He recently underwent hip replacement surgery but was hospitalized again due to complications.
Respected entertainment journalist Peter Ford told Sunrise that the comedian’s health had deteriorated in recent days and he was readmitted to a hospital in Sydney.
“Australia loves you and will always be grateful for everything you’ve given us and I think Barry has a fighting spirit that he won’t give up anytime soon,” Ford said.
It comes just weeks after Humphries said he was in ‘hurt’ after a fall at his home.
Humphries described his accident as “ridiculous” and said the injury to his hip occurred when he tripped over a rug while reaching for a book.
