Dale Thomas and Kane Cornes are set to reunite on Channel 7 next season but there appears to have been no good word between the former AFL stars, whose bitter feud has flared up once again.
Football pundits have shared several rants in the past, with Cornes set to part ways with Channel Nine later this year.
Their feud began last year when the Port Adelaide championship winner lashed out at the former Collingwood star, branding him “lazy”.
This came after Thomas criticised Richmond midfielder Tim Taranto, claiming he “didn’t influence games” and is not in the “top 150 players in the game right now”, and Cornes claimed his Channel 7 counterpart had copied his analysis.
Relations between the two appear to have been frosty since then, with Thomas lashing out at Cornes on Wednesday.
Speaking at the Walk With Me grand finale luncheon for Corey McKernan’s non-profit foundation, Thomas launched another attack on his counterpart, Cornes, as he spoke on his move to Channel 7.
“Kane is fine, I understand the role he plays in the media,” said Thomas, speaking alongside Channel 7 presenter Jason Richardson and Triple M’s Nathan Brown. “I’m going to have to work with him so I’m going to put aside the fact that he’s a complete twat and try to move on.”
He had left the crowd in hysterics with the comment and would subsequently make a similar claim at ‘The Great Grand Final Lunch’ at the Pullman Hotel in Melbourne’s east just a day later, this time referring to the former Port Adelaide star as a ‘moron’.

Last year, Cornes had taken a thinly veiled dig at the former Carlton and Collingwood player, suggesting he had copied the opinions of other pundits.
“I’m fed up with some lazy members of the AFL media, I’m fed up with AFL figures having opinions behind the backs of other AFL figures,” Cornes said.
“For people like Daisy Thomas and (former Collingwood coach) Tony Shaw, who work part-time and don’t have to appear on air much, to have their big opinions this week be something I said 12 months ago on SEN SA is embarrassing. Get up early, watch the games, work hard and stop having opinions based on other people’s opinions.”
Thomas lashed out at Cornes, saying: “For (Kane Cornes) to come out and say ‘I’m sick of these media guys having opinions on the opinions of other media guys,’ what’s going through his head right now?”
This comes after the pair traded barbs last week after Cornes suggested Power midfielder Zak Butters was “soft” after being substituted with a rib injury at half-time during their round one finals loss to Geelong.
Cornes had suggested Butters was lacking willpower, saying: “I think it’s a real challenge for Butters now – a lot of players play through pain at this time of year. I think he had to overcome it – his team needed him.”
The Channel Nine pundit had been criticised for the comments, with Thomas dismissing his analysis on Triple M’s Midweek Rub.
This week, Thomas lashed out at Cornes, calling him a “moron” when he spoke about working with the Channel Nine pundit.
Cornes had previously claimed that Thomas was “lazy” and had copied his analysis.
Meanwhile, Thomas has criticised his counterpart for comments he made regarding Zak Butters’ injury.
“If (Cornes) was sitting across from me at any time in front of a microphone or across from me in the pub, I would tell him that’s the dumbest thing I’ve heard in a long time,” Thomas told the radio station.
He would later add during an interview with News Corp: “There are the odd moment when I agree with Kane, but the position I’ve taken is to support the players and not lose sight of how difficult the game is,” Thomas said.
All eyes will be on the pair when they team up for Channel 7’s AFL coverage next season.
And Thomas has sent a message to Cornes on social media, detailing the terms he would accept for a cessation of hostilities.
“Dear Mr. Volcano. In an effort to get off to a good start, I’ve created a list of things I’ll accept as an ‘olive branch’ or a ‘barrier repair,'” he said on social media.
